2014 RDX fan problem
2014 RDX fan problem
Actually posting this question for my dad. Without any sort of warning, the fan in his RDX is not blowing. No air conditioning, no heat. The panel is working fine, but there is nothing being blown out the vents irregardless of what speed it is set at. Has anybody else ran into this, and if so what was the problem? Blower Motor? Transistor? All we really knew what to check whether the fuses and they seem to be fine.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you very much.

Sometimes fuses can be blown and visually look okay. I'd swap them just to be safe. Otherwise, I'd take out your cabin air filter and get a visual on the motor, and ensure it's not spinning/make sure something isn't wedged in there. Can't remember the RDX setup of the top of my head, but I'd try wiggling the connectors while the hvac is set to on.
If it's the resistor (which controls speed), the fan should work at high speed. You’ve checked the fuses although personally I like to check them with a DVM or by substitution. Check the motor to see that it rotates freely, then check the wiring harness, then the relay.

Any thoughts?

First of all I appreciate all the help, can't thank you enough.
Here is where things stand, a new blower motor did not fix the problem, the old motor still spins extremely well so it's not seized or blocked or anything like that. We tried replacing the relay which also had no effect.
Fuses all checked out fine, as did the connector to the blower motor. Could it still be the resistor, seeing the blower is not working at any speed? I can't even find where the resistor is located to possibly change it.
Any other possible suggestions, or advice on locating and/or replacing the resistor?

Just letting you know that the problem has been solved. It was the resistor. Not the easiest thing in the word to get at, but removing the glove box helped.
Anyways, thanks to all who offered advice and opinions. All the best!!
