Awesome exhaust setups

Sup guys. It's been awhile since I last posted in here and much less started a new thread.

I want to get an exhaust for my CL and would like to know what is new as far as aftermarket exhausts for our CL. I've always thought I would like a Magnaflow 14832 muffler with some sort of custom setup. For those of you that do have this muffler, what sort of piping are you running as far as axle/catbacks, different widths in piping, resonators or what have you. I would like a good setup that sounds fairly tame under normal driving but doesn't sound like ass on WOT. Power gains that you have from your different setups would be good to know also.

Like I said, I don't which exhausts are new for the CL, so please let me know which are the ones that sound the best and render the most power gains along with it.

Thanks,
Luis

Iv got the magnaflow 14832's with the resonator cut out, everything else piping-wise is stock. It has a low rumble to it with normal driving, nothing too loud or annoying. WOT sounds awesome IMO, very deep tone.

That sure sounds good. What did the butt dyno say after the exhaust setup install?
Doesn't the mid-muffler or resonator delete adversely affect horsepower and torque?

ATLP has made one for the TL's that gives 10hp and 10tq, theres a group guy goin on right now, you should find out if it can fit CL's with minor modification

only problem is that it costs 1k

you can still buy the cans and have an exhaust shop chop, cut, and weld them up for you.

Yeah, pretty much what I was thinking.

StreetKA. I've always like the sound of the Comptech exhaust but I personally don't like the tip much.

CA guys. How would a custom setup with Magnaflows go as far as CA Smog tests?

It sounds like it is a good exhaust. A bit loud but that with the power gains it is worth it. Only thing is I would hate to buy a $1,000 exhaust and have it chopped to fit a car that it's not for.

You'll be fine as far as passing smog in Cali. Just can't delete the cat

well maybe, I always thought the CT axle back was just a little bit mild and would purr with more air flow to them

ATLP, Just a little shortening is all I think it needs.

Shouldn't be much modification necessary.

I'm still a Comptech fan but the ATLP would be my 2nd option.

Marcus, Heeltoe, will do the Group Buy on the 2nd Gen TL ATLP exhaust.

They only need 1 more person to get it going.

Only asking $200 deposit and the rest in 3-4 months when fabrication is complete.

Here is the thread for more info.

Something to consider...

I love the look of the ATLPs, but they are too loud for me. I picked up a set of CT axlebacks that are going on as soon as I cut the old mufflers off.

I would possibly consider this exhaust if I knew how much work is involved to make it fit onto a CL. In that thread, you asked the vendor a direct question about fitment on a 2nd Gen CL and he never answered.

edit: Thanks to everyone for their input.
As of now, I think I may go the Magnaflow 14832 custom way because that is the look and sound I want. What sort of piping(thicker diameter) are some of you adding?

^ Yeah he never answered...lol

I was just trying to tell him about that to draw more attention, maybe sell some more units...oh well.

As for piping...

I think most people go with 2.5" unless you were to go turbo'd or charged, then it seems most people go with 3".
