drive shaft play

Ok my driver side driveshaft has some play in it and i don't want to bring it to the dealer what do i need to replace the inner part by the trans? i can get it from acura for like 130.00 let me know if that is what i need.

do you mean your CV shaft???

If so it is pretty common to have the boot break and get dirt and stuff up in there... If that happens than the crown and balls in there wear out and you can have some play in it.

If that is the case than you can get them from any auto store.(napa, schucks, kragen, autozone)

You have to pay around 180 and then if you return your old one as a core they will credit you around $90.

Tools you will need are a 36 MM axle nut(think big socket ) and you will also need a knuckle buster (looks like a tuning fork) to disconnect the lower A arm.

If this isn't what your talking about than I have no clue...

yeah, thats right, my whole car shakes when i accelerate that bein lose is most likely the problem, right?

sounds like the CV boot. Have you looked at it at all? I had the same symptons as you and just replaced my whole axle and problem solved. There should be a little play in the axle, but nothing extreme.

i think there is to much play in it, so i ordered a new axel from acura today cost me like 170.00 bucks and going to cost me 70 to put in in so hopefully friday i will have it
