Dragged my car yesterday...

took my car to sacramento raceway and saw another cls (white) there. didn't get to talk to him though...i was kind of high and didn't feel like chatting. Anyways, i also saw the new WRX there which ran 14.5 seconds. i ran a best time of 15.3 seconds. yeah i know...its pretty disappointing. but it was also my first time out though. i ran my car three times and found that using SS was actually faster.
first run...reaction time .713 (SS)15.372.....91.344 mph
second run...reaction time .594 (D3) 15.451....91.262 mph
third run... this run was against my friend with a 2001 maxima. he has a filter, larger piping, and a short shifter. we both had an extra person riding along so we could record the race. reaction time... .827 (SS) 15.609....90.041 mph
the other CLS ran 15.5 and 15.7
*temperatures during my first run was in the high 90's....YES, IT WAS DAMN HOT!!!

What were your 60 foot times? Did you beat the Max? Only 3 runs? Was it really crowded?

3 runs at most big tracks is normal

Why so slow? I thought a stock CL-S does the quarter in 15-flat?

And he didn't tell us he beat the Maxima, so I'm guessing he lost to him. Which would be a shame.

it was hot so that will slow you down a good amount. And also, real times seem to be slower then most mags. From what i've seen. Although in some cases they are quicker in real life. YOu also have to take into account things like how much gas did he have? A full tank will add a good amount of weight. i think a gallon weight 10 lbs? or maybe 5. maybe even 2.5. I've completely forgot what it was. Also have to look at when his last oil change was etc. All these play a big factor. but heat is enemy #1

If heat plays a big part -- does that mean if the WRX had a near empty tank and it was about 50 degrees out -- it'd run 14.0 flat? Not being sarcastic here, I'm just interested in what you think.

lets put it this way....i ran 16.2's at pomona one day when it was about 90+

i've ran 15.696 on the same track when it was about low 60's.

I also had 3/4 of a tank on the first run and about 1/4 of a tank on the other run.
