I am new to this forum and I need some help.

Does anyone have any tips on repairing door panels. I have 01 cl-s and my driver side door panel is separating where the hard plasic of the window controls meets soft foam rubber of the door panel. I dont know what to do. If I have to replace the door panel does any one have any suggestions on where to get one other than acura. Acura wants to charge me about $800 for a door panel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

There's a TSB on that. If your still under warranty it will be covered. I had it done & so have others. If not all you need to replace is the arm rest portion. The part is about $60 from www.acuraautomotiveparts.org.
#13 or #16, under door lining.

To replace... the door panel comes off, & the armrest unbolts from behind, then the new one bolts back in.

Do a search & there are pics & posts about it.

 

Tough to tell without seeing it.

For the outer panel R&R, depending on where you are and labor rates, etc. that's actually not a bad price. Plugged it into my software and I am just under $800 and that is without cleaning and prep, NIB removel, etc. but includes labor and paint time.

 

Oh, the interior trim panel. Strike my post then, thought you meant the exterion outer panel.
