Does the TB spacer really add 3-4HP?
I notice P2R explicitly states that they gained 4.5 whp off a 01 CL-S but is this true?
Also is that 4.5hp gain off a COMPLETELY stock CL cause if so I could see it adding more hp by itself than if you had a CAI on as well because they both are trying to speed up the air flow.
My "assumption" is that the HELP the tb spacer gives you is more without any other mods than if you had lots of mods.
please correct me if i am wrong. i just don't want to spend $100 for piece of mind. LOL
thanks

Here is my dyno thread that I did last summer.https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-dynograph-gallery-51/03-cl-s-6speed-p2r-intake-tb-spacers-vs-stock-494743/
I installed the spacer while the car was strapped to the dyno. At the time I installed the spacer I had xs headers and high-flow cat as my only mods. It made close to 3 whp and 3 lbs of torque. The results posted were the best of three runs for each part I installed. During one of the runs the spacer made close to 5lbs of torque. Also don't forget that during this dyno it was like 100 degrees out. Granted I am a 6spd and had headers these parts made me power. They should do similar for you since you said you got headers en-route.
I must also include that I like the guys at P2R, they were cool to work with and wanted me to be happy. So bonus for customer service. Get them their worth the $100. Not to mention if you ever wanted to run Nitrous for the hell of it the spacer has a threaded tip for the nitrous hose.

well I'm getting the tb spacer and thermo gaskets either way in a couple weeks. I like the idea of keeping everything colder. But first... I must install my obx headers and Option pulley this weekend at my buddys house with all the tools.
should be having some more fun then.

right.. gotcha. so more or less thermo spacers are really only good for posting higher dyno numbers because of the heat generated by the motor and the fact it is not disipating heat quickly. Ie you'll get a truer dyno number with them because there is barely any heat lag on the motor?
therefore tb spacer, manifold thermo gaswkets.. etc will all help you dyno more, but not get MORE perse
HMMM.. I would still like to see the true dyno numbers and have the piece of mind that my motor isn't deep frying itself in the smoggy summer.

From my understanding of this mod the gaskets are meant to keep the intake temps down. Heat soak robs power. I understand this is the "freeing up" of power that could be lost.
But the spacer itself is was "makes" power/hp. The extra air added to the intake manifold, and intake charge produces the extra power, combustion. Sure its not going to be felt all that much unless you have lots of other work done to the motor. The spacer in theory is adding something that wasn't there before. More air. Or am I missing something?
