Do we have a BRAKE PAD sensor?

The service guy says I need to replace my brake pads and resurface rotors for $225, i dont even know if they are shot yet, im gonna bring it in to a local shop for $119 though.

DO WE HAVE A BRAKE PAD SENSOR, letting us know our brake pads are getting low?

There's no electric sensor, but there is a wear sensor on the pads. It's a little metal thing that starts to sqeal when it's time to replace the pads.

So if I go to a local shop you think they are going to put on cheap ones, I figured they'd all be about the same, do I need to do Acura to play it safe.

I wouldn't say that going to the dealer is safer. Maybe a bit more peace of mind but at a higher price. I have a few local shops I deal with and they will put on any pad they can get at the customers request as long as it is available in town.

I've had 3 different sets on my car since I got it. None of them made any noises.

NO true sensor, but when my pads were really low my brake light came on due to all of the fluid it had to use to apply the brakes and in turn illuminated the brake light. Once i swapped my pads the light went off. The light would only illuminate under braking.
