Angry Depressed b/c of Car accident

Today I was having a great day until around 1 pm where this lady freaking decides to swipe me. It started me waiting in front of this car that's going to make a left turn but have to wait for the opposing traffic to go by first and then whenever they get the chance they go. It was a one lane spaced road and not including the bicycle lane yet and the parked cars next to the lane. She sees my car behind the car that wants to turn and so she decides to speed right between the gap from my car and the parked car which there wasn't enough room to make it so she swipes the my front passenger fender leaving an ugly dent. While she knew she hit me she still tries to do the hit and run technique and just kept on driving. I felt the blood rushing to my head with anger so I just went ballistic and floored the car and followed right behind her. I told my friend that's in my car to write down everything you see on the car meaning the plates, the make of the car, model, and even the type of that certain model. She then speed through the red light and I'm not trying to kill anyone so I just stopped. What a great day I'm having. Hope I don't have to pay for this bullshit.

I didn't call the police because since this was my first accident I thought you have to call the insurance first. Guess it's too late now to call them.

Looks like I'm gonna have to pay it out of my pocket if they can't find the woman. I have a $500 deductible and if they can't find it I have to pay that money up front and they pay whatever is left.

Angry

Were you able to get the plate number ? If so go to the police dept have them file a report. Take that info to your insurance company. She def must have damage too. And the color of your paint should be on her car still. If her insurance company contacts her she has to have her car seen .Grrrrrrr this makes me soooo mad.

I damaged my car on Valentines Day . I did it myself and I was bummed. So I know you feel ten times worse because someone else did it and they left.Good luck . I hope everything works out for you .

Police are getting suspicious of me because they are like why didn't you report this sooner when you had the chance. Now it's going to be hard for us to kind of believe your story because of the fact that she could have wiped the evidents off.

The way your car looks she should not be able to wipe the evidence off. What jerks. They said that to you . And the accident just happened today right?

What color was her vehicle? Were you able to see if maybe there is some of her paint that rubbed off on your car?

If you were able to get her plates that is very good. I hope they get her. And you didn't do anything wrong so don't let the police make you feel like you did. Good luck and I hope you do not have to pay your deductible.

the chances of me paying the deductible is very great because most of the pplz around here for some reason as I have found out that when they drive old cars most of time it's not insured.

Yes, But they should have some kind of liability insurance and if not then It should be a hit and run type of accident in which case you should have a lower deductible under the uninsured/underinsured part of the policy. Also, the cops crap is BS they should still produce a report base on the information you gave them and they should have to investigate the case. If even though if they decided not to investigate get a report because that will proof to the insurance that your are not at fault. If you have the license plate number the police and DMV should be able to furnish that info to the insurance. Good luck!!!

mom being a bitch and not letting me tell my insurance about it because she doesn't want to have her insurance increased. God some of the things that I see other asian people do that is so wrong makes me feel embarrassed for being asian.

Insurance will only go up if the accident was your fault. In other words accident where it is determined that you are at fault then that increase premiums. hit and run stuff should not increase the premium in most states. BTW tell mom to chill and not have a cow. Also parents sometimes can be ignorant to certain things because they have been thought wrong in the past, so dont sweat it.

tomorrow I'm gonna go to my friend who works at a honda dealership and ask him to do a price quote as to how much the damage is and see what I'm gonna do. My mom wants to know how much the damage is.

Assuming no suspension damage, you're probably looking at about a thousand bucks.

Don't worry about what the cops said. One time my car got hit while it was parked on my friend's street, and this lady cop came out to check it out. The first thing she said was, "This doesn't look like it happened here."

I went apeshit on the cop, and she was like, "Okay, okay, I believe you. I'll file the report."

It's almost like standard procedure. Don't worry about it.

The bitch's car must have some sort of damage, too, so have the cops run the plate and check out her car as soon as possible. The bitch will most likely try to deny it, but since you both traded paint, the evidence is there. Plus, your friend can make a statement as a witness.

Once you get a police report, give that to your insurance company and take your car to a shop to get it fixed.

As for the deductible, if she happens to have the same company, then your deductible will be waived under the Mini-tort law (in most state; check Pennsylvania laws to make sure). In Michigan, you can be reimbursed up to 500 bucks in deductibles from the other party's insurance company.

When my car was hit on the street last summer, I tracked down the girl who did it, and filed a report. She also had AAA insurance, so the lady on the phone with me was like, "Your deductible is automatically waived, so all you have to do now is tell me which shop you want to take your car to."

But if it's a different company, then all you have to do is call that company, give them the bitch's information along with the police report and a copy of your insurance policy (to verify deductible amount), and they will send you a check.

Good luck. My car's been hit 4 times, so I know how you feel. By the way, when you find the bitch, your word will go a long way in what kind of punishment she will get. You could ask for the fullest extent of the law, or go lenient. In my case above, the girl said sorry like a million times, and started crying, so I asked the cop to give her a civil infraction ticket instead of a misdemeanor hit & run.

On a separate note, I'm glad you lightened up and stopped at the red light. That's great. Unfortunately, I don't think I would have that kind of will power. My train of thought would be more along the lines of "Well, since the bitch already fucked up my bumper and fender, I'll just PIT her ass." and spin her out.

Imma call my insurance company and ask them a case scenario question and see what my insurance company would do and then tell them about my situation and then file a report right after.

That sucks about the car. Depending on what your deductable is, it makes sence that your mom doesn't want to report it to the insurance company. You might be able to get that fixed for about a grand or so.

You should always file a police report. You do not always have to file a claim, but always call the cops. Especially if it was not your fault. I would still try to get the cops to deal with it. They can be dicks, but it's not your fault. They may still be able to help you out though.

Good luck.

If the police find the woman and write a report it isn't your fault and your insurance shouldn't increase.

I would agree with you on that but then trying to spin her out and getting other hurt is not me. I've called the police to do a police report and now i'm waiting for the police to show up at my door so I can show him my car and give him the information that I wrote down.

Ok I've requested a police report and the police officer said that this is not gonna do her much good because I didn't stay there at the scene right when she did a hit and run on me. I told her that if I stayed there I wouldn't be able give you her plates because that was when I was blowing horns at her and telling my friend to write her plates down.

Wait a minute, I have a question. What happens if she doesn't have insurance? Will my premiums go up because of that? Or will it go up regardless of what had happen? One of my friend just informed me that after I talk to my insurance and the police track her down. Her insurance is going to have to prove that it was her fault. What happens if she tries to clean it up? Probably sux for me

One thing is that she cant clean up any type of body damage/bumper damage specially on her driver side. She maybe able to remove paint but phyiscal body damage is highly impossible. Regarding the insurance, It will not go up if its claimed as a hit and run and your policy has uninsured/underinsured coverage which carries a lower deductible compare to collision. If you dont have that then it will go under collision coverage, which carries a higher deductible. Even if they fix it under collision and you have a police report indicating that is not your fault you should not see any increase. All this is true, if you have a pretty clean record and have not had any claims in the past 2-3 yrs as a policy holder.

I would really love to but she went through a solid red light and I decided not to follow her through that red light because of the fact that the cars coming across was starting to move already.

unless she drags it out in having her car looked at...that's what is going on with me and my accident. stupid girl rears me (very minor), and i claimed her insurance and all and she is denying it. she denied it on her recorded statement and it's been over a month now and she isn't taking her car in to get looked at. i'm screwed.

I went to take a look at the police report and the police only ran the plates. I found out her name and address and the stupid cops didn't even question her at all. They were like just let your insurance fix your car and let it go. I was like are you insane? I'm not paying for some stupid bitches fault for hitting me and then panics and decides to run off. In the police report the insurance column for her is unknown. Please someone is there a way to find out if she has insurance because all the police did was run the plates and didn't try to find if you had insurance. Can my insurance find out if she has it?

You can ask your insurance to run an insurance verification and registration abstract with the states DMV. That should give you her insurance info. Also, you mentioned there was a witness. Was the witness listed on the police report? If the witness is not named on the police report, they will not be admissable.

Kinda sucks but that's how law enforcment works around here. As long as nobody gets hurt they'll just tell you to turn it over to the insurance company. It's shitty but it happened to me 3 times since I've been driving (not with the CL)

You want justice? Give me dat bishes address

The only problem with your friend being listed on the police report is the fact he is a biased witness which would make his testimony inadmissable .

well he was the one who saw the hit coming. He was the first one who warned me that she hit me even though I already knew she did that's why i floored the living day lights out of the CL and caught up to her and wrote down her plates. Guess my witness won't work.

those dam cops r just lazy, maybe ya moms can go with u, they tend to act that way cause they want to brush u off and not do the paper work.

i had the same problem a dude hit me from the rear, tried to push my car up so he could driveaway, then went around me and nailed someone else, i gave chase and when he stopped i pulled him out the car and broke his key in the ignition. it got worse when the cops came, but i guess shit happens. you're still alive and u can always try and track her down, in fact u may see her again, and when u do call the cops and do what u must. in addition as 4 my state, when u file a police report it goes to the state anyway so, if u wanna keep it secret, do ya Homework b/4 u make ya move,

best of luck feel better.

Sorry to curse again but I just finish talking to my adjuster and she said well Jerry I'm going to order a copy of the police report and the Insurance information from Harrisburg. I asked how long will this issue take. Some told me about 1 to 3 months depending on how quickly things come along. Jesus 1 to 3 months? Fuck. She said I have two choices pay the deductible and get the car fixed or wait it out. I don't know what to do. What do you guys recommend me doing?

Pay your deductible and let your insurance take care of it. That's why you pay for collision coverage. Your insurance company will fight it out with the other insurance company so you don't have to get involved and be in the middle of it. Judging from the circumstances though, there is a good chance your insurance company will not be successful in getting the money back from the other company since the woman is denying any involvement and the fact there are no independent witnesses.

I would do everything in my power to make sure this crumbsnatcher didnt get away with this BS. Somethings seriously wrong with the system man.

I got a hit a while back by this dude coming out of a neighborhood without even looking. I had very similar damage to yours. Long story short, he gave me false info (insurance, address, etc) however some of his info was correct. Well my brothers buddy is a cop in NJ where this happened and was able to to track him down with the bits and pieces of legit info. Me, my brother and a 6'6" 320 lbs friend of mine went to his door and told him he can either go to the ATM and get $500 or deal with the cops about him providing false information (since we told home we were able to track him down with aid of the cops). Well, he decided to go to the ATM and get the $500, which was cool since the estimate was for $400. I gotta say i felt pretty good about that one.

One thing i learned and hopefully you too, is to just call the cops imediately after it happens. I hope you get justice on this bietch. This is why i carry a gun in my car. Cuz thats what i do, shoot ppl....jus playin...til it happens in MY CL
