Dei Shock Sensor From Autotoys

okay I took a risk since the "brand" name of the shock sensor at autotoys wasn't listed, and it came out to be the infamous "DEI OEM ALARM INTERFACE", now I want to return this thing and go buy the other one, you think they will take returns, will i have to pay for shipping?

You want to return the DEI? Why? DEI is Directed Electonics, makers of the Viper alarm series. I have never had a problem with DEI products.

I thought DEI was one of the best?! Maybe that guy didn't mount it in a good spot for shock?

I didn't mount it i was holding it on my hand and also just let it sit on the carpet. then i sat in the car, armed the car. and tapped the carpet around the dei sensor. I've tried using 4 diff DEI sensors for other people since they sell these @ bestbuy and circuit city, to install the shock sensors w/ no luck. when will people start trusting me???

I think the DEI's work great w/ the DEI alarm brain, but not w/ our factory ones for some reason

Damn.... $22.50.... the shock sensor I bought from there was only $10.50 and it hooked up fine following Nova's instructions. I specifically stayed away from DEI b/c of those same instruction.

See if BestBuy or CircuitCity sells the same thing. Maybe they will give you store credit with no receipt.

There is nothing wrong with the DEI sensors. I am using one in my car. What you have to do is use the first stage wire since it is the most sensitive. Where you mount it is also important. mount it to a structural part of the car. For me, I mounted mine behind the glove box on the tubular cross frame. IF you want more sensitivity, connect more than one. Put one in the rear, and one in the front.

Shock sensors merly output 12v- when triggered, so it doesn't matter what they are hooked to.
