Dealer wont replace rotors...
Well I am taking my car into the dealer next week for brake pulsation. I advised them of the service bulletin about the rotors on the 2001 CLS---they said they do not replace them they machine them. Can I demand they replace them so I dont have problems down the road? He did say they were covered for the full warranty but still...why would the dealer even care about replacing them if its warranty work? Should I take it elsewhere?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bulletin only calls for resurfacing. I think this is all Acura will pay for at this time. I think I have seen others here go back after having the same problem again and the dealer then put new rotors on. Some have had no problems with the resurfacing. So obviously you would want the most and Acura wants to do the least required. I think you have to take the resurfacing and be happy.
b careful...i've had my rotors cut twice already, so make sure the integrity of the rotor hasn't been compromised from too much cutting, otherwise u should b able to get new ones, provided they're still under warranty (first 15K only i believe)
Depending on how badly it's damaged, it may not need replacing in the first place and would be uncalled for. Resurfacing can do wonders...give them a chance. If it still doesn't fix it, THEN demand that they replace the entire rotor.

WARRANTY ROTORS
I had my rotors resufaced at about 18,000 mile. That worked fine until about 40,000 miles, and when the car was in for service again, I asked them to check out the rotors. Dealer replace the rotors and the brake pads. The explaination from the dealer was the original brake pads had too much metal in them and that caused the warpage.

Ask your service rep if they updated the brake pads for your 2001 cls. If they have not updated them--->>> THEY SHOULD! Next, if your rotors were resurfaced twice with in a certain amount of mileage, you automatically get the new brake pads and rotors. Check the service bulletin again and talk to a service rep. Or call my dealer Tischer Acura. The service lady Tina has been very helpful.

Heres another one ---->>> More on Rotors This is when i actually got new brakes (even after the updated ones) and NEW rotors.
I just got mine resurfaced and got new brakepads yesterday. I have 26000 miles on my car and they covered it under warranty.
As a couple of people said earlier in this post, it's due to excessive heat from the brake pads, thus warping the rotor. If the service tech see's that resurfacing the rotor won't help they'll probably replace the rotor. I'd see how the resurfaced rotor goes first though and if it happens again, bitch them out and demand new rotors since the brakes warped them.
Also make sure that they put new brake pads and not the same old pads, I've read a couple of posts where the techs put the same pads back on after resurfacing the rotors.

had my roters and pads replaced. It was making a little rubbing noise, the dealer said the rotors are warped, and he would just replace them under warrenty. i guess it depends what dealer you go to.
