Dash break light

Dash break light
I've done some searching on this issue, found a question, but no answers so hopefully can find someone who has had this issue and can shed some light on it.
I have the brake light on my dash come on, a lot now, both when warm and cold. I found a thread that suggested it could be the brake reservoir cap, so I ordered a new one, but did not solve the issue. The brakes work fine, the fluid level is just under max, and made sure the E brake is down. Any thoughts on what else could cause the light to come on? Thanks in advance..

In my experience, it was because I replaced brake lights with LEDs..
I ended up just popping off the cluster and braking (pun intended) off the led under the "brake light".
Hence my suggestion of. "Check your rear brake lights"

perhaps.
Try putting a bulb back in 3rd brake light. if that works, then a fix would be to buy a resistor and install it on that circuit to trick the computer into thinking a bulb is present.

For me it was the left bulb (driver's side) when I replaced it with an LED, it would turn on the dash light (theoretically i think it's to alert you to check your brake lights and make sure they're not out). I believe the bulbs in your CL is dual intensity so check and make sure both filaments are still intact.
Also you can check the brake fluid level like poster above recommended
