Damn it! The second time I have to replace the front windshield!

1st windshield had to be replaced the first week of ownership.
Last year, I had to fix a rock chip (a 1mm surface chip).

Today, I found 2 6"-cracks spreading from that surface chip.

I have to go through the glass shop warranty department, if judged unrepairable, I have to pay another $500 deductible!!

I will be on my 3rd windshield!!

That sucks.

I'm on my 3rd. First week of ownership a huge rock came off a gravel hauler and completely smashed the passenger side. Second replacement it came back from the dealer with a giant crack starting from the lower driver's side.

The first replacement it was around $575 if I remember correctly...

I was told the the glass shop "may" credit the cost of the chip repairs to the cost of the replacement...

Still I am

I wouldn't go through insurance for a windshield. All they'll do is up your premium. Or am I missing something???

Under compresive coverage windshield claim does not affect the premiums.

Now if the Glass shop credit me some $100 than I have to pay 475 or less for the new one... so insurance may not be involved at all!

Is that specific to a particular insurance company, state or is this something everyone can take advantage of?

I had no idea something like this existed.

This is one of the few things I liked better about living in MA. Makes no damn sense to me, either.

My ex-wife's Integra was on its 3rd windshield after 4 months, I think.

I got a rock bounce off the windshield on Feb. 4th...dime-size damage...three days ago when I came out of work it spread about 18" in each direction . Safelite is coming tomorrow with its "Mobile" service to replace the windshield. It seems there are too many CL-TL owners who have windhields being cracked by a little pebble or something .....Our windshields seem to be way too fragile compared to other automakers ... ***question *** is the radio antenna and "outside temp display" sensor a part of the windshield??

Yep...I came and found the windsihels with 3 craks spreading opposite ways...

It's also Safelite who did the pin-point chip repairs last year and now I have go throw them again for a replacement ( most likely )

I concer the windshield is VERY fragile...

The rafio antena is on the rear windshield and the outsife temp sensor is on the front of the radiator..

Here are some pics:

I'm just waiting for the next mofo gravel hauling truck that dares not to cover his sheeeeeeeeeeeeet up. Get the plate and company...give it to my insurance company and have them argue with each other to pay for my chips, crack, or whatever they may have caused

no it is not a sensor... it's just a shade for th rear view mirror sensor that detect nights from day (for the rear view Anti-glare dimmer)
