I'm not a mechanic, far far far from being one, but how is it possible? why doest people on this forum spend 1200$ on this instead of headers, intake, etc?

I'm just stunned since its the first time I hear of this.

If you can get all that for $1200 then good luck.

By the way, if you have any warranty left, you won't when you're done. That means if the shop screws ANYTHING up and it blows -- you pay.

How is the dealership going to know? hrrrm And dont' you think the shop doing the work would offer their own warranty?

Most bolt on mods won't affect the warranty (you may have to hassle with a particular dealer though), internal mods -- machining the cylinder heads for instance -- will.

But you knew that. There are a few folks here who don't think that far ahead and I just posted it as a "heads up".

They wouldn't for a minor issue. A big one requiring a tear down would show it up pretty quickly.

Well...a reputable shop would. Who's to say the shop chosen falls into that category? All I was saying is to be carefull how you go about it.
