The RT cat is a really nice upgrade. Lets the exhaust flow much better than OEM. As for headers I couldn't say. I like my Megans just fine.

You should probably know that you have to mod the RT cat to make it fit the Type-S.

Is there really much of a gain with just the RT cat w/o upgrading everything else?

yea. from what i understand i need to drill the holes a little and extend the wires. i got the extended wires from excelerate so i don't need to cut and use butt connectors to extend and the drilling should be pretty straight forward.

rt=random technology (the brand)

Honestly, you will get more out of the RT cat if you put headers on.

Since you Type-S guys already have a high flow cat back I really wouldn't worry about changing anything after the cat.

you dont have to drill anything. buy a new rear o2 sensor. remove the old one. just extend the wires w/ the old wires on the new sensor. thats it. ive done it multiple times, just use heatshrink or you will have to redo your splices due to corrosive conditions.

Yes a lot of you guys would benefit from a high flow cat. The stock cat is pretty restrictive. The stock exhaust on the Type S though flows pretty well.

ct headers and rt cat...installed!!!!

after hours of grinding and drilling to get the POS nuts and bolts off the xs headers, i finally finished the install. the ct headers are noticeably better in quality and i don't get the hollow "whooshing" sound from the ct's like i did from the xs. The ct's are in a league of thier own. as far as performance i do notice i slightly quicker and harder pull, however i did do the rt cat install as well. so i'm sure the cat free up alot of restriction. the combo of ct headers and rt cat is a winner. my car sounds stock at idle and not so stock at wot i did have to drill the stock piping to a larger diameter in order to get the rt cat to line up. even with the larger hole it still did not line up perfectly, but i did not want to drill too much more. overall the car is just more aggressive in sound and perfomance. thanks excelerate. i'm loving it.

future upgrades: pulley set, cams(when they are available), sway bars, rear BBKs, and way down the line a turbo setup(since comptech sc is out of the question)
