Hi there, i am new to this site. i was wondering if anyone has converted their cl-s to 6-spd. i was wondering what i would need and where would i find the tranny at? any info would help thanks. my tranny went out and its going to cost 4g for rebuild. for that much im sure i can convert my cl-s into a 6speed for the same amount of cash. Help please

 

dont think its been done yet cuz of the fact that you couldve just bought a 6spd but i was planning on doing it on my CL-P but decided to just get an NSX instead. however, you can look around local junk yards and you should be able to find one and im not sure but i think the 04-08 TL 6speed tranny and the 03-07 Accord 6speed tranny could also be used but i think theres some modding to do. it's a pretty long process which you could actually look up the DIY on here, one of the mega mods did it to his TL. good luck man.

To my knowledge no one has yet to convert a CLS. TL & accords have been done. It's not cheap or easy FYI.

 

i am from chico, ca. was planning to take the car to the acura dealer in sacramento. estimated at 4g... anyone can help? tryin to talk to them to make it lower, when i bought the car it was already over the warranty and didnt know anything about this problem. if i knew i would have never bought this acura crap car

 

Goto a reputable transmission shop and get it done for much less. Chains that offer a good warranty are all around.

 

I wouldnt take you car to Niello Acura unless you've had it serviced there before. I think they are snobs.

Elk Grove Acura is much better with friendlier service. They maybe able to help you there.

See if Elk Grove Acura will cover some costs first before going else where.

its not that hard.

 

These trannies where replaced soo many times ACURA does not even know if it is the original.. When I got my 1st tranny done it was done at park ave acura and second at wayne acura, Wayne acura tried telling me that my tranny was never replaced. When I called corperate to try and get a goodwill they also told me that my tranny was only repaced once when it was replaced twice. They are not gonna tell the truth and if u r the second owner u will not know..

Does your car have a oil jet, If it does it "Might" be new if it does not then most likely it is not new..

 

didnt someone swap cls to a 6mt and had all pictures and procedures here... I remember seeing it, have to change parking brake pedal to handle, change complete ECU, tranny, seemed like fun for someone with the time and money

 

3ppl did it on the tl side and posted pics along the way.

 

i should have it done with in a couple of weeks.

and i'm also doing a manual to auto swap. all my stuff going back into the donor car
