Comptech muffler tips w/ Magnaflow 14832 Mufflers

anyone have pics of this setup? I want to remove the tips that come on the Magnaflow mufflers and put on the Comptech ones because they are a little smaller.

Also, would I even be able to just get the tips from comptech. Their site doesnt list them seperate.

thanks

I think that'd be a mistake. I think those Magnaflow tips are awesome. The Comptechs are too small.

To each their own, but I like the make of the Comptech tip better. It's more rounded off at the ends like our stock tips, compared to the straight edged the magnaflows have.

^^ right.

I personally like the Magnaflow tips. They are more aggressive looking without being too ricey. And with the chrome on the inside they give give a more polished look to the back end.

they just seem too wide or stick out kind of funny. Maybe I need to see better pics, but the close up ones just dont see right with me. Do you know of pics from further away?

I don't know of any.. I think it also depends on how the installer puts them on, since they're probably custom mounted. I lucked out and got a very meticulous installer and he put them on great. I'll try to remember to take pics this weekend and will post them.

please do......you may be the one to persuade me into keeping the tips on the mufflers. Like I said, it could have been just the pics that I didnt like.

i agree with unctype-s..i love the look of rolled tips of the comptechs. if there were some exhaust that looked like comptechs but just slightly bigger, i would be over it in a heartbeat.

Anywhere to get new 03 tips w/o buying the muffler too? I like the 03 tips, but in the spring when I get magnaflows I dont wanna put on my slightly tarnished and 3.5 yr old tips.

So when most people get catback, is it replaced by 2.5? What are our cars now? I could always search, but I figure I will kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Thanks for the pic killer. I dont know. I still like the look of the Comptech tips with the rolled polished look on the ends of the tips.

I'll take some pics and post it for ya. My magnaflows have the rolled tips and they look almost the same as the stock ones from those G35. IMO, they look more than perfect on our CLs.

Hey guys,

I have a related question that perhaps you guys can help me with.

I am looking at buying a Comptech catback exhaust. If I go with the Comptech catback exhaust (IMO, the Greddy EVO2 cannisters hang a little low), which I am more inclined to do, is it possible and, if so, is it easy to install a different exhaust tip (perhaps different shape or a bit bigger, say, 4-4.5"). THANKS...

Well on Saturday I will then be equipped with 2 Mag 14832's. Those soundclips sounded too good to pass up. Hopefully I will be satisfied otherwise the stockers are going back on. Have been debating for a while but my curiosity didn't hold me over too well. Went ahead and scheduled the appointment. I will let everyone know how they are.

Only thing with those is that they do not come on polish stainless steal mufflers. I would have to buy the regular Satin stainless and weld on those tips.

My other option is going with the 14832's with the tips that already come on there like killer and the other guy posted.

What do you guys think?
