Ive been considering Comptech exhaust for a while and now have the means to buy it. Im concerned by recent posts that the comptech is outrageously loud and ricey sounding. I need some input from you all to make a decision.

 

It's no where near ricey sounding... it has a nice deep growl/rumble.

It's also no where near loud. After a week of having it I stopped even noticing the sound.

Honestly the sound is subjective. If you ask 10 people about the sound you'll get 10 different answers. If you're really unsure, best bet is to meet up with someone who has the exhausts and go for a ride. That's the only way you'll know if you like it. Making that decision based on the opinion of others is a risky option unless you know for a fact that they have the same sound tolerences as you.

 

Yeah it's best for get into a car that has it. I did, & it's not really loud, but you do notice it. It's not a fart can type of system either, but for me, I didn't like it. There was alot of in cabin noise it created. I do alot of long HW trips, & couldn't live with the sound for those long drives.

wtf are you talking about the comptech exhaust is the most quiet exhaust ever. has a very nice low tone rumble you hardly notice

I ALWAYS use to get compliaments on my Comptech stuff

 

i have had numerous exhaust set up and the comptech exhaust is decent! you will here it you will get tired of the sound and you will hate it!

get in a car with the exhaust and drive it twice. if you can stand it after the second time then go for it! also comptech makes the quiet tips which elliminates half the noise.

performance wise it dosent help
for looks well it all depends what you like better. the stock tips or the round tips. when i had my exhuast installed i didnt like the way it looked on the cl but it grew on me and with the quiet tips im happy with everything

For what it is worth I love going through tunnels... Ive been told on numerous occasions that it sounds like an F1 When in high revs. Personally I love it and would never change it. :phatyo:

 

The sound is aggressive but not rice at all, and they look great !!

 

No rice sound at all. As mentioned earlier nice low rumble, you'll hear the difference inside at first then get used to it.

 

tampacls- try to actually hear this in person before you purchase it or not. The reviews here are correct, but some people did not like the sound after getting them. Just fyi, we did a few tests in chicago, the HKS was actually less loud then comptech's (both cars tested had identical mods).
