Cold Air Intake
Cold Air Intake
So i was looking to get some more performance out of my 03 type s was looking around for CAI's and just wanted to know which one is perfect for our cars thanks. Can i run CAI's in Hawaii. Hydrolock?
I've run my AEM CAI through some pretty heavy rain and never had an issue. You would almost have to submerge the cone in water to hydrolock. I wouldn't try crossing any lakes or anything. If you're really concerned about it, you can use a bypass: http://www.tirerack.com/intake/detail.jsp?ID=1082

You can def run a CAI, if you're worried about hydrolock A.) Don't drive through deep puddles that you wouldn't walk through, and B.) Get an AEM Bypass Valve, best $50 I ever spent and it saved my engine when I was driving on a flooded street

I was in Myrtle Beach SC during a hurricane, it rained heavily while we were out to dinner, and I was forced to drive back to our beach house through several flooded roads. Water was up to about my headlights and was cresting over my hood, where my CAI filter was down at the very bottom edge of my inner fenderwell, and I could hear the bypass valve start sucking when the filter was submerged under water preventing hydrolock. I have been a believer ever since
