lets just say that i almost shit myself because i never raced an all wheel drive before. we started from a stop till like 100mph and he had my up till like 60mph id say. i had to play catch up the whole time and really push hard on it cuz he took off so fast... around like 40mph he had like 3 cars on me but then it ended just as fast as it started.... after takin off his car just seemed to die and my second gear vtec looked like i was pushing out 30lbs of boost cuz i caught up so quickly that by the end of the 1/4mile id say i had 2 cars of him... that was the scariest but best race i ever had cuz it made me look so good to pass him that fast lol...
of course there are the unbelievers and haters in this forum but w/e thats my story and i wanted to share just in case one u came accross one of those...

The story isn't that hard to believe. The A6 is HEAVY and Quattro eats alot of power. I think they're supposed to run about 15 sec 1/4's @ 94ish mph. You beating him by 2 car lengths sounds just about right -- though with a better launch you should be able to squeeze another length or so (given your mods).

 

yea i keep trying new launchin techniques... i cant find the best one yet especialy with my new tires... they have alot of grip and most of the time dont even burn out when taking off but sometimes they do... i usualy press down of the pedal gently put quickly instead of like kicking it down half way... i push it down half way but like squentally then kick it down to WOT... i dont know if you understand what i mean and if thats the right way but yea...

 

my neighbor across the street has a white one. are all of them V6 3.0? it looks nice and all but i've always thought i would easily take him cos of what was said before about it being pretty heavy and power loss through the Quattro drivetrain.

For 2005 and 2006 it only comes with a 3.2 and 4.2,
from 2001-2004 it came with a 2.7 twin turbo,
from 1998-2002 2.8l \ 2003-2004 3L

the only thing that will come close to our cl -s is the 2.7t and the 4.2 my previus car (2001 a6 2.7 spd) ran 13.7 1/4 mile all day with just a chip and intake(stock they will run 14.2-14.4)

Yeah my buddy has an 02 A6, and it's not that fast, I drove it. Our CLS would own it.

 

only the manual is quick. the auto is slow

 

I've been test driving the A6 4.2's and my CL-S with headers and intake is faster, without a doubt.
