Clicking noise when braking

Have you guys noticed a loud clicking noise that happens once when the brakes are applied for the first time after starting the car? I tried searching but nothing comes up. Is it the ABS engaging or something like that?

Thanks!

Clicking? The ABS system makes more of a moan or "moo" sound. No clicking for me. Where does the clicking come from?

It sounds like it is coming from somewhere in the front. I don't feel any feedback through the pedal though. It is a fairly loud click. Almost like a solenoid or something is switching on or off.

I would definitely have that checked by the dealer. It will be under warranty.

Yeah...it only happens once right, and usually when u back out of the driveway and then proceed foward, once u step on the brake for the first time when going foward...you hear "click". it's normal but annoying and can be taken care of at ur dealer. Whats happening is you brake pads are "changing direction" in the pad holders, there's only like 1 mm of room to move back and forth when changing directions...but it will make a clicking noise. Usually what I do is replace the brake pad shims...or remove the old ones...clean them well and apply an ample amount of NEW brake pad gel "anti-squeek gel" Your local dealer should be able to take care of this for u...good luck.

now if u have a moan type of noise at 3 and 15mph...only for the first time...this is normal also. It's the ABS modulator performing it's tests.

Yup, I have the same noise on my other cars, it is pads moving.

Thanks guys!! I know I can always count on ACL for answers. Is this something that needs to be addressed immediately, or is it more of a nuisance?

It's fixable, but there is no mechanical issues that will prevent you from driving. A nuisance....
