CL-S on Zeals (pics)

A Few More Pics Here

Handling is like night and day. I have the front sprint rate set to 1 (softest), and the rear set to 3. The rear springs need to settle a little. They are still 'squeaky'.

looks nice, especially w/ the subtle rake. i'm thinking of getting koni's so i can bring the front of mine down another 3/4". but then it will be dropped 3" in front, not sure if the 19's will rub. those zeals are tight.

It feels GREAT. My kidney doesn't pop out of my side anymore when I take fast corners. With the current settings, it feels REALLY close to stock. The rear is a little bouncy, but that's about it.

I haven't had much time to play with the spring rates yet, but I REALLY like what I've seen so far.

did you have springs before? if so, is the ride better now from a comfort standpoint? i'm sure the performance is better, but you have no idea if your still on the stock michelins. w/ 19's it will be sick.

I only had stock springs before, so I can't really compare. But its pretty comfortable.

"w/ 19's it will be sick"
Do you mean my ride quality will go down? If so, then yep, I'm going to have to drive like grandpa from then on out.

I just want to tell you how lucky you are not to have salt and dust all crusted on your car. For those of us currently experiencing the lake effect you know what i'm talking about.

Oh...and yes...nice suspension set up...if I only had the money.

Did you have clearance problem over the sway bar link and Damper area?

that may cause Squeaky sound.

I have been driving with the B6 for 4months, the rear still squeaks
I guess its the alluminum mount.

its already align and camber adjusted
the sways bar joint and damper is only 2-3mm apart

I guess B2 with thinner damper wouldn't have the problem.

You still have squeaks?

I dunno if I have the clearance problem over the sway bar & damper area, as I didn't install it. I haven't really had the time to go look at it in detail either.

So I can pretty much make the assumption that something else is causing the springs to squeak?

Looks nice!

But if the ass settles you might have that saggy-ass look that an even drop gives the CLS.

All Coilovers can be adjusted for height, and these can be adjusted for stiffness too, right?

Mantis, yah mine still squeaks , it has been more than 4months now, and there is clearance problem, might cause noise when the wheel hop into a pot hole or something, thats the pic I posted for, the sways bar link is extremely close to the Damper, like 2-3mm.

I don't care about noise, just afraid it might some day scratched and break the air damper box.

I am discussing this issue with Endless USA right now, and see what they have to say.

I guess B2 won't have such problem with a thinner damper.

Mantis, if you really want a quiet ride, get a OBX 2770 Rubber ring, and use the stock mount, it get rid of those annoying noise.
sometime sounds like

and B6 is too stiff for daily driving, awesome in auto-x.......damn I love the feeling.
maybe I had B6 with Race spring.

anyways, I wanna discuss the problem with you and Astroboy, so hope we can solve them.

mantis... looks hot!

as for the squeaks... well, I've got a shittier set of coil-overs (Ground Controls) but... from my experience with them... they start squeaking after everytime the car has been jacked up or lifted.

it doesnt go away until you lube them up.

all ya gotta do is jack the car a tiny bit... so you can reach in there and spray some lube on them. works like a charm.

just spray right where the spring meets the lil spindle/adjuster plate...

that seems to fix squeaking with mine at least.

Paid $190.00 for installation at a race shop.

soopa, the squeaky sound is not spring, these are extremely good condition and design coils.

Three reason for Squeaks.

1st, Clearance problem on sways bar link, the bar might possibiliy hitting the B6 Damper.

2ndly, Squeak cause by ALLUMINUM Upper Top Pillow Mount, having it hitting the Spring, or sometimes sound like "sucking straw sound"

last, because of these so stiff suspension, it may cause extreme
flex your Car body, so it might cause "tzzzzzz" sound, and noise on the sways bar bushing for this matter.

The only solution to make it more quiet is, using a Stock pillow mount for daily driving, and use the alluminum mount for track or auto-x.

This shocks is just not good for street ride, running on street condition(with bumps and shit) with shorten your spring life real fast, I used to own Tein HA on GSR, those die in 2 years cus I drove them on street , and yes they are as hard as B6.

My camber is at -1.7 degrees on the rear driver's side, and -1.8 degrees on the rear passenger side. Specified range is -1.0 thru 0 degrees, so going much lower isn't a good idea.

I just realized on my camber printout, they have my car listed as a 3.2 TL 1999-2000. I wonder if that affects the specified ranges? I'll take a pic of it so someone can tell me what the hell all of this means.

That is about a 2.75" - 3" drop, haven't measured it yet.

Looks like you need a camber kit in the rear!!!! -1.7 and -1.8 is a lot of negative camber. You will start to see the inside of your tires wear fast!!!! You can have some negative, but not that much!!!!!! I am no expert, but I think most people here will agree with me. You camber should be WAY closer to 0.0. Actually, after looking at it again, your front right has a little too much negative camber too!!!!

for the rear, going 0.0 is not a good idea , that will sacrifice the performance, I think -1 is the best, which my setup right now
but yes you definity needs a camber kit anything before 2inches.

but damn with the clearance problem Zeal B6. Solution would be buying an aftermarket sways bar link or custom-made it, so that either make it smaller or shorter.

So you think getting comptech sways for the rear would fix the problem?
