Newbie rim question. Please help

When it comes to rims and tires, I'm a freaking newbie so no flame please. I read Chod's FAQs and found offset +42 will probably work.

Here is my question. Will +40 fit CL-S? I have no plan to lower my car. I'm calling for rim experts' help

Thank y'all very much.

on a 7 inch wheel..yes, with extremely minor rubbing, if not, no rubbing.

7.5, expect mad rubbing.

On a 17 x 7, you will most likely get away with it. I had 38mm offset 17 x 7 Integrals on my Lude Si back when. It rubbed only during hard cornering, or a full load. This was also lowered ~ 2" all around. The stock offset was 52mm, I believe.
