CL-S 6 speed to be sold - value?
CL-S 6 speed to be sold - value?
Hi,
I'm starting the process of selling my CL-S 6 speed and would like to hear what people think is a good selling point.
Car Details
The car is in tremendous condition. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 9. I know I'm the owner, but I think a 9 is fair.
What's it worth?
Thanks, Paul

obviously, your mods dont add value to the car.
and I would sell some items separately, like the wheels. you could get back a grand or more from the wheels.
but if they sit on the car, you wont get much from them

Wow!!! Looks like kbb is just under $10k. My initial thought is to start somewhere around $12k and then gauge the interest. Or if you want to sell quick, list it around the $10k. If this came up during my search 18 months ago and it was closer to where I live, I would have likely bought it for right around $10k.
KBB grossly over inflates the values of a vehicle so that dealerships can attempt to profit on the uninformed public, and gives private sellers some false sense of value of their vehicles worth.
KBB is horrible, no lender's or insurance companies ever use KBB to value a vehicle. Your best bet is Edmunds or NADA.

I usually agree with NADA, but this specific car is sort of a 1 off from the normal. I mean, take a look at the sheer fact that it says the 6-speed trans makes it worth LESS, when for anyone who is actually looking for this car, that is a HUGE plus. 6 speeds are rare with this car. Also, with that low of miles I would say 10k is a fair starting point.

There are a bunch of CLs for sale by dealers with starting prices north of $11,000. Many of them have 3 to 4 times the miles. I'm hoping to find someone looking for a CL-S 6speed and wants one with low miles that has been cared for very well.
Wish me luck!

I hear ya OP. Like I said I don't think $12k is unreasonable to start at. To the right person you never know. You just have to consider how many other cars are available once you get into the mid teen price range.
They are so reliable I choose to buy a clean higher mileage one for less money and spend some making it my own. I assume most in this market are similar but you never know. Also mine was listed by a dealer for $8k and I got it for $6k so you have to consider what they are actually selling for.
Another thought is to put the original wheels back on and sell yours separately. I assume most interested in your car would either be fine with it bone stock or they will do something crazy with it. But I could be wrong. Good luck and great car!

I think $9-$10k is where you should price it forget what dealers are doing because your not a dealer also your talking about an 11-12 year old car that is technologically limited compared to cars just 5 years newer. I agree with Justin you should remove some of the mods and sell them separately you'll get more for them that way. Whatever you decide GLWS !!
