Just wanted to say hey to all, I just bought a silver 02 cls with navi, black interior, tinted windows, all stock, and 33,700 miles about 10 days ago. Before this I had a 92 Legend LS sedan and loved it, got 160,000 miles out of it. I'm loving these forums and the acl.com world.

Welcome, my previous car was a Legend too, a 95 Coupe. Pretty easy transition to the CLS, I have the 03 6 speed w/ navi. Congrats, you got a rare one, not many 02s.

That's what I keep seeing on these forums, the 02's are rare for some reason. Everyone's got either an 03 or 01. Any particular reason why the 02's were rare? Hopefully it's not cuz they were a hunk of junk?

I think to try to boost sales and promote the new 2003 6 Speeds (yea!) they cut the 02 model year short and brought out the 03 model about 5-6 months early with the new 6 speed manual shift version. It'd be interesting to see the numbers for each year. I assume 01 is first, then 03, and then 02.
So that is why you got a rarer year model with the 02...altho the 2003 6 speeds with the Navi are even rarer.

I bet. Except that I can't drive a 6 speed, I never got the patience to shift myself.
It's dangerous shifting, talking on the cell phone, writing directions, and driving out on the Interstate all at the same time.
oh wait that's fun

I assume you got the black, but which interior color? Both colors were offered with the black. I love shifting myself. When the 6 speed came out, I bought it, well I've had 2 of them actually.

I got the black interior with satin silver exterior. The shit looks bad ass and fast as hell just sitting there. I've been totally amazed with how good it looks, not a scratch on the body or rims, in great condition, the guy who owned it before me leased it through his company so most of the miles are highway and all work was warranty work done at the dealership. not to mention, his company paid to tint it as well
you might be asking how i know this? well it's cuz i went through the glove box, found the owner's contact info and called him before i ever signed the papers
by the way, it's a type s, wouldn't get anything less
