Here's a strange one. Last night I was next to a friend of mine at a light. It was raining and we both tried to take off fast from the light. I lost traction and overreved briefly. There was a bit of wheel hop as well. Car is a 6-speed. After this happened the check engine light blinked 3 or 4 times then went out. Any idea what this could be?

 

I think mine did that once too.

 

Me, everytime I accelerate hard, the check engine lights up... then after a couple of days it stops... only to light up again later.

Have to go to the dealer soon to check that out.

 

I have had that before... its when there is wheel-hop during shifts... I have found mis-fire codes and some other mumbo-jumbo codes which arn't listed!

 

wheel hop... if it lights up everytime I get wheel hop, i better get use to that light... it's not gonna stop soon.

 

When i had my CL-S that shit happened to me once when i came out of my development and go on it hard. I just got the car like 2 weeks before and never really got on it, so the first time i did i saw that shit i was like on my god! I thought for sure something was wrong and I was going to have to go to the dealer and this and that. But it just blinked a couple times and then when away, but like everyone else is saying it was after wheel-hopping (no traction). So i guess its just some caution light and nothing serious unless it stay on i wouldn't be to concerned.

 

I get it too. Some better tires help it though.

 

Thanks guys! Sounds like it's nothing serious. I guess the vibration from the violent wheel hop might be throwing something out briefly. Really makes me want to cure the wheel hop.

 

There is a front vibration mount with a sensor (vacuum line coming out of it) - this might be triggering something - probably how the dealer says you DROVE HARD!!

 

Mines blinked before as well but only when i accelerated hard, and never did it anytime afterwards. So i thought it may have been a glitch. dealer never mentioned anything either so i guess it was a fluke.

it did it once previosly too when i opened the car up and got it up at really high speed. but right after that i took it to the dealer and they didn't say anything about it again.

 

Intermittent Misfires, just temporary and nothing to worry about.
