hi guys. i'm from the 1st gen forums. my girlfriend on the other hand has a 2001 type s. i keep telling her that i'll help her mod it up, but i don't exactly know where to start. how do i for example clear the lights and some other minor mods that will look good? i don't think that i want to drop the car just yet... got to teach her how to drive properly first. any suggestions would be much appreciated!

 

check the tunner's guide...start with the gutter-guard custom grill...cheapest mod you can do, and looks pretty nice too

get her the 03 tails and clear the headlights and springs

 

why not start off simple and just change out all the interior lighting and maybe get her some pedal's or something. And change out the tail's.

And if the intake comes out on monday for the CL-S add that in. that should be a good start.

 

I just got a 01 CL type S last week myself. I think the first thing Im gonna do is this in the order. Maybe you might go that route b/c Im going with the money situation.

1) Change all the Exterior and interior bulbs (If you need the list email me)

2) Side door sills the silver ones run about $60 a pair and the chrome are about $80 with the Red type S emblem. (email me and i can get you the URL site link)

3) Pedals which I already bought. I just bought the matrix pedals from honda dealer for 15 bucks same ones I had on my integra. But I repaint the whole pedal and cover which matches the car (got alot of compliments btw )

4) 03 Tailights - $380.00 with the sockets and bulbs (autocarparts.com but acura dealer said they would beat that price for sure since its an original acura part)

5) Cold Air Intake from AEM $215 (cheapest I found them)

6) Rims - AXIS se7en Mod 19's $2,100 with tires

7) Tein Coilovers $970 with installation

And the list goes on.... but thats a start... You should just make a list of things and go from there... Just take your time.. especially its your gf's car and hopefully shes coughing the bucks for the parts .. Good Luck

 

BTW you wanted to know how to clear the headlights... You have the manually open it and take out the orange part ...

STEPS:

1) TAke off bumper

2) Use blow dryer or Warm up the oven and heat it until that sticky shit.. i forgot what its called opens. then do the steps over when u take out the orange part

3) make sure when u seal it back up .. u have to do it really well because if theres little air thatt can get in.. your whole headlights can get foged up or water can get in.

 

thanks for the replies guys. as for the tuner guide, i looked over it before, and couldn't find anything worth the money spending for my girlfriend. as most girls are, she's only into looks. i'm looking for for creative suggestions. like for my car, i spent a few bucks on sidemarkers, eyelids (anyone try this?), custom interior, stuff like that. i like the 03 taillights idea, but it's kinna costly. how long does it take to clear out the headlights?

 

click the link in my sig and look around for the pics of the eyebrows. i made them with vinyl but they are probably gonna get redone soon. what i dont have in the pics is how i covered up the reflectors with vinyl too yes but whatever works.
