Charger SXT with exhaust and 2 kids in there 20's are on the side of me just givin it little taps of gas tryin to get me to bite, I did.

Come to a stop light, so when it turns green we roll off slow so I keep it in 1st just in case they decide to get waxed and we take off. I was at 4,500 in 1st and instantly started gaining on them. It went to the middle of 3rd gear and 1 1/2 to 2 cars a head of them the whole time. I thought those were quicker but on the other hand it wasnt a R/T or STR8. It sounded like a V8 though.

At least they got put in there place.

Edit: Wait just looked at the specs of that car, nothin to be proud about beating. That tuna boat doesnt have enough power to pull its self out of a gust of wind with its weight to power. Or he wasnt gettin on it but I heard his engine at high rev.

I played with a hemi charger on the highway before and pulled on him...it was probably last summer, but either way, I think you get the picture. Don't be afraid of any of the new chargers...unless it's an SRT-8. Nice kill btw.

 

i fried a charger srt8 from a dig...he did giv me one car tho...i also killed a 300c str8 from a 20mph roll...i just pulled on him and waved goodbye...dont b afraid of any hemi!

A 300c srt8 is even faster than the chargersrt8 dont think that wouold work buddy...Our cars arent THAT fast, the 300c srt8 will crush and smite us all day.

 

As a matter of fact my cousin cls55amg with 425 was racing a 300c srt8 and he was actually keeping up , so where does that put a CL on the map? nowhere. NO OFFENSE just not practical. Unless you got a supercharger or turbo.

 

This guy is correct I was at Maple grove raceway this saturday and I saw 2 chargers r/t with intake and exhaust running mid 13's all day. No way can a cl-s keep up sorry..... I smell BS.....and by the way those sxt are just a six and I have been slapping those bithces with my 2.3 (spraying) not a great kill....

All I can tell you is that you probably raced a RT w/ 340hp. They pull low 14's in the quarter stock so you could whip them.....As for the SRT8 eehhhh thats a little diff. story. Who knows though...maybe his SRT8 wasn't running good that day or missed shift or somthing. Its a Dodge...so you know something is going to break on that thing soon. Not worth 30K for my

Just like everyone else has been saying. Those SRT8's run stock high 13's and they are automatics. So there is not much of a chance for drivers error unless he steps on the wrong pedal.

But really man, there is a difference between being optimistic and being reasonable.

I love my CL as much as the next person, but if a 300C can hang with an AMG, that spells BIG TROUBLE>

You are right, those bitches are fat as hell and if you mod the suspension on your CL then add in some twisties. There is no doubt in my mind that you would be able to take those cars from 0-100, but thats only if you have some curves tossed in there.

In straight line drag performance, it won't really be close.

 

Why these people keep making up lies about a v6 killing or even keeping up with a V8 is beyond me. Hell, a CLS would have trouble with a new Maxima let alone a V8 car. Those dudes over at my350Z.com are over there lying about owning Pontiac GTOs over there like they think the GTO has a Chevette engine in it or something. Crazy.

 

V6 Charger = Fairly easy kill with mods.

V8 Charger = Wet dream.


And over on your 350z forum, the only way that is happening is with the turbo kit and tranny upgrade.

 

u obviously dont know (much) about cars...a fully modded v6 could easily (beat) a v8 in the ass...the charger rt is not that fast especially if im running 13s and they arent...and as for the srt8 i admit the cars may not have been srt8s but thats what they sed on the car and thats wat (it) looked like...maybe ur car isnt fast i dunno but v8s arent (much) until they modded or souped up by the dealer ie srt8's, gtos, stangs...also dont slouch maximas..there was an 03 maxima the other night staying dead even with a gto...the max was modded but that doesnt defeat the fact that it was a fast max...i thnk the lowest 1/4 et he ran was a 13.4

 

I have to agree. When I was at the track, I saw a couple of R/T's run a couple of times and the didn't even make it out of the 15's. Maybe they didn't know how to drive

But the new Max's? C'mon those things have no balls at all. I've walked them from a stop and on the eway. Honestly the Altima is more of a challenge because it's 200-300 lbs lighter depending on stick/auto.

A CLS would have to be so heavily modified to beat an SRT8 it would be less of a headache just to buy a used V8 GTO or a Mustang GT and lightly modify it.

How can you have two stock CLS's and one be faster than the other if both cars are well taken care of? Let me make this more clear to you, junior. The Brand new Maxima with CVT transmission may be garbage, at least in my opinion, but a 2005 Manual transmission Maxima, which is a lot newer than an 02 CLS, with 265HP and 255ft of tq will eat a STOCK CLS's lunch. I personally raced an Altima SE-R in my CLS, and with the Altima only being 5HP less than the Maxima and weighing 231 pounds less than the CLS the Altima would definately kick the CLS's ass.

Those aren't modifications, junior. In my book those are accessories to assist the modifcations like a TURBOCHARGER or a SUPERCHARGER. You have either one of those, Bat-man? I thought not. I don't want to hear about what's coming in the mail, junior, or what you wish you had. Either it's on your car or it isn't. Take that car to the track and race an SRT8 and see how well you come out. You ain't beating shit with a V8 under the hood on the track or the street.

 

Because my CLS is for commuting, junior. I don't modify a car I drive to work. It's going to stay stock. Furthermore, this isn't an American Musclecar website nor is it an SUV site so I don't talk about my 4WD Pathfinder nor do I talk about my 69 Camaro with a 327. When you reach my age, junior, you can afford to have an automobile for different occasions instead of dumping cash into one car.
