Center Console Gets Warm and Stays Warm

In the new CL-S6...

The car was parked today in direct sunlight from 10am till 5pm. Obviously the interior got pretty damn warm during that time. After a few minutes of the A/C on the interior cooled down... with the exception of the center console. Which stayed warm, maybe even warmed up a little bit. It was hot to the touch around the shifter trim, along the sides of the console, within the cupholders, and the cup holder cover. I proceeded to drive from Dover, Delaware to York, PA... over 100 miles and 2+ hours. Never cooled off.

I remember the area around the shifter in my automatic CL getting warm, but never as warm as I experienced in the CL-S6 today. Any ideas? Normal? Anyone else?

CL-S6 has a center console toaster oven built in. Thought you knew that...

It does get hot as anything in a car in direct sunlight for an extended amount of time. I sometimes have to channel the AC air onto the shifter cause it's too hot to use. However that only takes a few minutes. I have noticed the sides get warm on extended trips. When I drive to nyc, I wear shorts & the side of my leg that hits the console is always warm. Even with the AC on.

well I just drove back home from Michele's house (80 miles) and it didn't get warm like it did yesterday. I guess it just never totally cooled off on my trip yesterday.

your cat convertor is almost directly under the console... they all get warm inside the cup holder... there is a heat shield under the car (piece of tin) that is suppose to keep the heat down... if it bothers you alot, take the tin off, clean it well, place some reflective heat tape on both sides and put it back on.

Yup, you've got exhaust underneath the console, heat rises.

If that is your only complaint, you have nothing to worry about,
