CD Code / Head Unit Replacement?
CD Code / Head Unit Replacement?
About 4 months ago, my CD player started displaying an ERROR code and stopped playing CDs that were in the changer...it also wouldn't eject the CDs. After letting the car sit overnight, the code would disappear and the CD player would work again. This happened about 3 times. My dealer replaced the head unit two months ago. Now a new problem has appeared. Now the "new" CD player will spontaneously stop playing and CODE appears in the screen. This has happened twice. Each time I have to put in the security code and it will work again. I'm not having any problems with the car's battery and have no clue why this new problem is occuring. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Last weekend we purchased a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder SE for my wife which also has a BOSE frontend and supposedly a ClarionCD changer. The dealer (Nissan South in Atlanta) said they checked the vehicle thoroughly and guess what, the CD changer will not play CD's and gives an F3 error code. Nissanforums.com shows this is a common problem with the Nissan Bose unit and hope to have it replaced at my local dealer tomorrow. Unsure who makes the Acura CD unit, but apparently this is not an uncommon problem.
The only parts of the system made by Bose are the speakers, the changer is Alpine. At least that's what the Bose person told me when I called them researching the problem.
Sounds like a loose connection in the back. Try ejecting all your CD's & just use the radio. See if it happens with no CD's in the changer. If it goes away then there's something wrong with the changer portion. If it still occurs then the unit is at fault. Maybe check the radio fuses under the dash also.
