Question Car parts swaps...

I just found a CLS6 white w/ black int 162K miles for $6,640...seeing as how I'm DYING for a 6 speed if I can some how pull this car in for a lower price what performance parts can I swap from my car (03 CLS 5AT) to put on it? I'm also wondering about the engine b/c I only have 71k on mine, can I swap it into the 6spd version pretty much straight up? I know theres some parts that the AT's have but the 6spd's don't. Would this be a good idea or am I wasting my time? Thanks guys!

Seems like a good price, but damn thats alot of miles. Inspect the car closely before you buy. Try to find out maintenance records if possible. If you've done that already and you want to jump on it, I don't see why you couldn't keep your headers, exhaust, rims, and electronics. I think the cusco stb fits on both MT and AT. I'm sure that the intake won't fit right but I think it can be modded to fit. Doesn't sound like a waste of time to throw those parts on a 6speed that you might buy, especially if you can install yourself.

Are you going to be keeping both?
An option is to buy the CLS6 and see how it drives. Then go from there.
Just check that tranny. Mine just went out.

6spd tranny went out? I know the miles are high that's why I was thinking of transferring the mods if I can swap blocks etc seeing as how I have lower miles if that makes sense. The car is SICK but the high miles kind of erks me a tad that's why I want to swap motors then sell my 5AT CL and keep the CLS6.

Headers may or may not fit depending on the brand and if they have the bend in the rear bank to accomodate for the extra motor mount in the 6-speed.

that car was actually for sale on here a couple months back. i know the cd player doesn't work [it gets jammed]. thats really the only problem the guy stated on Azine. he said mechanically it was fine which is believeable since honda engineering can touch 200k. im pretty sure he was saying 1st clutch lasted hi close to 100k sice he really took care of it...so 2nd clutch has at least 60k...

that being said, im pretty sure it sold on here...not too sure at all tho, so maybe forget i said that...the thing is that for some reason it ended up at some dealership going for 6700 but was on here for 10000 [with same miles].

just something to be aware of.

BUT if this is going to be a project car more than a daily driver. BUY IT! its 1 of 12 built Taffeta White Ebony interior Navi 6speed. the most coveted in my eyes!

Yup... I have just over 100,000 miles on her.

You can swap the motors, but there are 3-4 sensors that you need to keep off the CLS6 motor and put them into the CLS Auto motor.

162K miles on an 03' in addition to 100K miles on the first clutch would indicate to me that they were probably a lot of highway miles so you may be surprised on how much life there's left in that motor. A short block from Acura is around $1,500 so I wouldn't mess with transferring the motor from your AT to the 6MT. For the double labor you would have swapping, you might as well put that toward a fresh block in the 6MT.

The only mod that I'm not sure of transferring are the headers. The 6MT headers have a bend in them to clear the rear mount. All other mods will swap right across.

Go for it!

if you have the extra money lying around and you are indeed passionate about the CL, i would 100% get it and do w/e you want with 2 Type-S's

either way, good luck!

and i for one would love to hear back from you on what you chose to do...
