dude, i hope you get some good info from it, i haven't been able to see anything other than a salave title on it, we have it at work, about 2 years ago a customer with a clk430 did $22,000.00 damage to his car. he was worried about on trade it and asked me about carfax, so i ran his vin through, it said no major accidents, and no accidents reported, ($22,000.00 is what i would call a pretty major accident) - i also ran my car though, (around $8500.00 with supplements - nothing showing

 

I ran my car, it came up totaly clear, even though i had 5200 in hail damage, which i thought would bump it into a salvage title.

 

I am mainly looking to make sure that peeps are telling me the truth!!! If they say they are the second owner, and I find like 6 title changes, then maybe they are lying about something else!! I also want to make sure that the odometer wasn't rolled back and that the title is clear!!!!

 

You will only get a salvage title if your car is stolen and recovered, or if the damage is so bad, that the insurance company totals it out and pays you!!!!! I will run the VIN off of my old civic and see what it says. It was stolen and totaled out. I am sure that the insurance company sold it, so it should have a salvage title now.

 

Most of the cars I am looking at buying, are from out of state for some reason??? So I am using car fax to make sure the title is clear from where ever it came from!!!!

Funny how the accidents don't show up!!! I guess if the body shop or the insurance company don't report it to the dmv, then no one will know!!!!
