Can no longer order 6 sp??
Can no longer order 6 sp??
Finally pulled the trigger and "ordered" my 6 sp today, but was told no new factory orders could be placed? Car must be located and trucked in.
So, first choice was anthracite, there are none in the southeast. was told it was a mid-year color and that not many were ordered. Question was raised, with production being stopped on the 6 sp this early in the year that it may not be around next year???? If not, how many do you suppose were produced?
Anyway, going to see if there is an anthracite anywhere within flatbed distance, 2nd choice black/parchment, third red/parchment. Price, without any haggling, was $28,3 something, no nav. Are we allowed to promote dealers? If not, private message me, cause this savannah dealer was great
!!
Can't wait to get my hands on it. Is there gonna be a break-in period? Or is it a "break it in fast, it runs fast" kind of a thing (chevy dealer told me that when I bought my 1978 corvette) (I didn't get on it until 500 miles on the OD and a Jag xjs had the bad luck to be going through the toll on the Garden State Parkway next to me, but thats another story . . . . . )
Hopefully, he will find something that he can get to me by mid to end of next week. so, i'll be off driving for a while. pretty bored waiting for it, actually.

There WERE only supposed to be 2,700 built for 2003 and its anybodies guess what will happen the CL line after this year.

Nope .. I think it is true .. I made a deal to dump my '02 Auto (on it's 3rd tranny) for an '03 6er .. and was told that there was only silver and black left in the production queue for non-navi CL-S6 (This came from the Acura Rep - NOT the dealer). I was also told to decide on a color quickly - I took an ABP from stock. My hunch is that the '03s are about done for production and there would be no '04s.
I picked up 6-spd CL-S at the end of December, '02 and was told by the dealer that no new CL-S would be manufactured for the first 2 or 3 months of '03 as they were diverting all available transmissions to the new Accord.
Could be B.S. trying to get me in the car, but it seemed to make sense at the time.

The rumor was that there were surposed to be only about 1000 Accord 6spds made for this year (2 per dealer max), so the assembly line is probably shut down for CL 6spds and ramped up for the Accord 6spd.
I wouldn't be suprised to see the CLS 6psd back for the 2004 model year tho'. I'm not sure if the 2004 CL's are due to be coming out in the spring or the fall. Only time will tell if the CL will live on.
Hmmm..... I got a call this morning from the Acura salesman that let me take the test drive.
He told me that if I decided to go with the 6 speed CL, I had better hurry, because they can no longer put in a factory order for a 6 speed. He said he can only do swaps with other dealers.
So I guess it's true- no more 6 speeds for the year.

I totally believe it's true... they only made 2700 6-speeds... and the 2003 came out in summer 2002.... so it makes sense.
So you can either get one swapped in or wait until the 2004 models come out this fall.....

I ordered a car in mid January. Its not coming from another dealer. This will be a virgin from the factory. Red, ebony, no nav, 6 speed. Coming in March. A week ago two other dealers offered to order one for me. The dealers desperately want to get rid of cars on the lot. You have to be very clear with them that you will not not buy a car off the lot. I did.

Actually, I believe I was the first on the board to take delivery. I picked up mine on March 6th because the car came in early due to a computer glitch at the port. Official release date was March 15th I believe.
