anyone have a diy for installing an aem cai? thanks

 

It's in the FAQ.

 

just unscrew the engine cover

then take the battery holder off and have the batter to the side...you dont have to unhook it...but if you remove the battery cover it makes it easier to get to the stock intake box screws...

then remove the one screw and the tabs under the drivers side of the car to get the plastic off...once you've done it you can get to the screws under the stock intake...unscrew and remove

and dont forget to install the blower...i dont remember what all the peices are called but its pretty simple...detach old piece...add blower....tuck old piece away

then install aem piping to throttle body and down into wheel well are (not actually there but thru the hole)

after that...get under you car and put on the filter and tighten all screws...and you should be good to go...


it wasnt that hard at all when me and my boy did it...did it in probably 15 - 30 minutes....one of the easiest DIY mods...

well...the mini filter thingy.....my boy called it a blower...well..we were drinking...so he could of meant something totally different...but its the mini filter

the aem cai doesnt come with a extra small filter...it fits in the palm of your hand...????

maybe i got a extra piece...??

 

mine came with a filter for the end, the pipe, some hoses, the boot and some fasteners and bolts. not two filters though

 

I believe it's the water bypass valve you're speaking of.

 

naw its not the bypass i know that...cuz its like a actual mini filter which you put on where you take that hose off in front of the engine...nearest the radiator????

 

he's talking about the breather... its a tiny filter that people put on there intake or on the valve cover

 

there ya go...sorry....thats what he called it....a breather...

 

hardest part is gonna be taking your oem air box out then its gravy from there... Then Just bolt the bitch on. haha
