Last night while driving home on the Van Wyke I was racing what appears to be a Ford Contour SVT. I was ahead about 2 car lengths than all of a sudden we were neck and neck then he passes me, what the fuck did that b.s. car have a supercharger??? I also raced a toyota celica which was on my ass but I smoked him badly. Today again on the Van wyke a 540 i BMW was on my ass and I let him pass then we looked at each other with that look and it was on. I fucking smoked his fucking ass so badly that when I slowed down to look at him he exited quickly from avoiding me looking at him. Again can someone tell me what the fuck does the conture has??? While racing him I had him, honestly, my fucking skills are good especially in traffic on a highway, but I just dont know???? Supercharger or something...

I sorry one more, what does SVT stand for. I was quite intrigue with the 2000 countor at a dealer but never got to test drive it. It was fully loaded and I'm not sure if it had 6cyl but it had SVT all around it...

 

Are you talking about the Contour or your car? I would say an aftermarket SC for the Contour would give any where between 50-100+ HP depending on boost.

What's the price for this on the Contour, for my car it's about 3 or 4 grand I suppose...

 

Not sure. I've never checked into it. I know most SC's go for around 3 to 4 G's like you said.

 

There isn't one that fits our cars. Turbo is possible though...and I think Comptech is coming out with a supercharger for the Accord...which in theory should fit our cars.

I didn't think you wanted to go when we were sitting by the bruckner light, and when i passed you going up the on ramp for the whitestone. But then you flew pass me at the top of the bridge so i knew it was finally on, your car was very impressive the way it switched 3 lanes and back i didn't see any lean, i'm sure you noticed me right behind you too atleast until the traffic opened up. Actually it was my girl driving at the light then after we went thru the toll we switched and I wanted to catch up to you because you zoomed right by us and to me thats a challange. You got some shit their Im equally impressed.

a stock contour svt has 200 horses which is the same as a 3.0. I would imagine that a CL would still be faster because the damn thing is a ford. He had to have had some shit done to it. Ah yea, I dont think the guy in the 540 was trying to race or you would have been done. I was behind one today in my friends prelude and we were fucking with it, all the sudden the fucker went and there was no way we were hanging with it.

 

I don't know what all the fuss is about he did not beat me he passed me is all I'm saying. If it were not for my girl telling me to slow down believe when I say I would have caught up with him and prob passed him. Regardless I will give him his props becuase when it comes to highway racing I don't think anyone could fuck with me, so if you see a black acura within the Tri-state area let's see if anyone can fuck with me not to disrespect anyone on this forum its just my opinion....

Believe it or not i don't really like to do what we did since NYC cops will take your car for it, but it was fun.
Whats the top end on your car? I've had mine up to 150mph but i think it helped me because i was drafting a porsche (no chance at winning).

I don't either but yeah it was fun and extremly dangerous. As for speed I'd say i was pushing about 120-135mph. If it were not for my girl it would have been more interesting and fun...

Maybe it was just the driver i guess. What else do you have besides the intake. To tell you the truth, I played with a 1997+ 540i and I lost by like 2 cars. I don't remember how fast I end up reaching but it was 160 km/h +. Arn't the 3.0 engines 200 hp VTEC?

 

#1) 3.0s are quick...but not that fast where you can say "no one can fuck with me on the highway"

#2) no you cannot reach 135 in the 3.0 stock...believe me...I've tried when I was running stock. 120mph...MAX.

 

Rice I think a 3.0 can go faster than 120 mph cause I've hit 125mph when my car was bone stock. I actually did it the first day I bought the car and I wanted to see what she scould do. I forgot to mention that my car is '98 2.3 CL

 

I don't know...I wasn't able to pull past 120 when I was running stock. Which is shitty cause my friends Z24 can now go 135+. Damn gearing. I think the difference is due to that fact that your car is manual. Or am I wrong and you have an auto?

Check this out, I was under the impression that everyone in this board owns an acura CL/TL and that we can exchange ideas and experiences. I might have gotton out of line when I said that no one can "F" with me. Again not to diss anyone but I have been driving since I was 12 yrs old and owned 9 cars. I presently own a acura 97 and a mazda rx7 91 and I occasionaly street race, thats all we do in the BRONX. If I said I raced a BMW or any other car thats faster than ours I expected to get big ups from you all not critisism. What happened to the brotherhood of the ACURAS.... I agree with you mistacanyon, though I have a CLS and suppose to support fellow Acura owners, but I can't picture a CL of any type without any big mods beating a 540i stick or auto. We are talking about a 280-290hp V8 4cams compared to our 200-260hp "front" wheel drive SOHC. The VTEC ain't going to help that much in this situation. Unless that 540i was a really really old model not the new ones.... or maybe it was the intake that you have that gave you such incredible power

Where did you get your intake, I want to buy one too!
