Question Brake shop in SEA?

Anyone know of a great, reputable brake shop in Seattle?

My car is in for the 45,000 service and I was told my back pads are at 10% and need to be replaced. Acura of Bellevue wanted $150. I told them to not do the work.

Thanks,
Rob

you should have alot more than 10% left on your rear brakes at 45,000, what all are they going to do for $150 just put pads on and turning the rotors or are they going to replace the calipers to, I think Leshuab charges about $179 for our cars and they replace the calipers turn the rotors and flush the system and have a pretty good waranty, or if you live close to me I could put pads on and get your rotors turned and you would be into for probably abot $100

$150 only included pads & labor to install the pads. I figured that was a serious rip off.

The backs are much worse than the fronts because the fronts were replaced under that service bulletin a few years ago. The fronts are at 70%, the backs at 10%. Believe me, I inquired about the discrepancy because the backs should never be that much worse than the fronts.

I'd have to look at my records, but the service bulletin dealt with the steering wheel shimmy'ing when braking on the original pads. Acura in NY replaced the pads and resurfaced the rotors. They didn't have to touch the back pads for that service bulletin so my back pads are original.

$179 is for back only?

I don't live near Puyallup but I don't mind driving either. The Acura is still fun to drive. I'm in downtown SEA.

While I'm at it...who knows of a good suspension shop in Seattle?

Long story short...my suspension is fubared after an accident several months ago. The car doens't hold the road on turns. I was told the castor is off on the right-front, but who knows. I need the suspension looked at.

Thanks,
RM

I went to Les Schwab this weekend. They were busy and couldn't do the brakes but they gave me a quote. For pads, calipers and resurfacing rotors, $409. WTF is that?!?!!?

Even though the rotors were $96 and probably don't need to be resurfaced or replaced, that's $315.

Where did you get $179 from?

Why would you need to replace your calipers?

I would just buy new pads and do the job yourself. it is fairly simple once you take the wheels off, and there is a write up somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=brake+install <--I used this one for the job I did. The only thing I never thought about was the slots in the rotors, what direction they were supposed to be. You should make sure they point towards the front of the car, otherwise they'll warp a lot easier.
