Body shop recommendation in NoVA area?

sup yall,

can anyone recommend a good body shop in the Northern VA area? i live in arlington and some punk kid threw a rock at my car while i was driving on Rt.7 last week. now i gotta shell out my deductible to get it fixed.

i got a big ass dent on my passenger door, it looks awful.

do you think i should take it to the dealership? do dealerships only do service or do they also do repair work/body work?

any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

check here, these are all shops that give a lifetime warranty on workmanship and paint http://www.certifiedfirst.com

btw most dealers dont do body work, the sub it out to a body shop that will give them a kick back for the referal, i wouldnt take my car to the dealer for body repairs

i dont think paintless dent removal will work on this.....big ass dent w/ a big ass scratch....

thanks for the recommendations guys...anyone else know of other shops that may be a little closer to the arlington area? just want to get some feedback.

im just worried they wont match the paint correctly. also, i got some other door dings on same door panel...do you think they'll fix those along w/ the dent the rock caused?

Talk to D&V Autobody (refer to my link above). They said they would have no problems getting my paint to match correctly. From what they told me, they use the same machines that Honda/Acura do to mix paint, so they get an exact match. They also should be able to take out the door dings and the dent the rock caused. Just make sure you tell them during the estimate so they include it all.

BTW- If you follow my link above, I also had some links to people who were very unsatisfied with Pohanka Auto Body. One guy found out that his car was being abused when it was there (people were doing burnouts in his car). Another person got his car back in less than perfect condition. I've never used them personally so I can't say for sure, but I've heard bad things about them ... apparently even people who work at the Pohanka Acura dealership don't recommend them because they have such a bad reputation. Just my 2 cents, sounds like bryanz3.0cl has had a positive experience with them tho.

Its two different things. Pohanka Acura in Chantilly has people they contract out to do minor bodywork and painting on cars that they're bringing in off of a lease or that they've bought from customers. It allows them to get the cars looking nice again without spending a lot of money. There is also a separate bodyshop that carries the Pohanka name. They are a full up bodyshop and thats what most of us (except for evilone) are referring to.

BTW- My car was black and the work I got done by D&V was a perfect match. Just as an FYI.

And incase you didnt already see my Pohanka referrals:

The Pohanka body shop is jn a warehouse right behind the dealership, my girlfriend just leased a warehouse in the building across the parking lot...I drove by it the other day and it is full of a bunch of messed up cars (saw a couple of REALLY fucked up CLs out front, I'll take pictures next time). But I would think that they probably charge more than a regular body shop (since they are affiliated with the dealership).

the pohanka auto body im talking about isnt really behind the dealership, if you go across the 28/50 intersection and keep going down someways, maybe a 1mile or so, take a left at a light and you turn up a driveway in a business park type place, take another left where it has their autobody sign and its on the right with all types of acuras/lexus'/hondas lined up out front. does that sound familiar, i havent been over in that area for about 3-4 months

...maybe it is kinda behind pohanka i guess, but its been there a long time.

Yup, thats the one I'm talkin about. You're right though, not exactly "behind Pohanka", but in that general area.
