Is it just me or do most of the people on this forum seem to have the satin silver CL-S ??? Where are the black Type S folks ??? I guess silver is the more popular color huh?

I just bought mine a few days back and couldn't make up my mind between the silver and black.. They both look great, black is hard to keep clean often, silver is not as "shiny" as black is. In some sense, the black looks a bit more sharp. And being the indecisive person that I am , I kept staring back and forth between the silver and black Type S' at the dealership. The sales person probably thought I was a moron and just wasting his time... oh well...

I ended up getting the black CL-S since my last car (1998 Camaro Z28) was in silver with 35% tint and wanted to try something different.

I asked this a few days ago, but you guys with the black CL-S -- should I just go with the normal 35% black tint.... how's it look for those who have that kind of tint? did you like it or do you now wish you did something else like the chrome/platinum look or a different % in the black? I'm thinking the chrome tint on a black CL-S would look a bit ghetto? just wondering..

hey, i also have a black cl-s. i'm not too sure what my tint is, i know that it's the darkest one you can get on the back and side rears. um, i like it the way it is, i wouldn't go witht he reflective though. and also, i didn't like how they couldn't tint it all the way up on the rear window cause of our built in antenna or what not...anyways, good luck

 

I also have a black CL-S. I went with the limo tint on the back window and the small quarter windows. I have the light tint on my front windows. I dont know what % those are. I think the limo tint on the back looks awesome. It really gives the black CL-S a very pretty line. I think the chrome tint on the black car would look ghetto also. P.S. The shop that tinted my car had no problem tinting over the back antenna or the black trim on the quarter windows. He said he uses some new kind of glue that works really well just for that. The tint filled into the little holes perfectly. Looks normal to me.

 

Urrrr F.. beauty is SUPER clean and Pimped , err, waxed to the max could you do the same to my black CL-S Interior Carpet Shampoing and Cleaning wont hurt either.... Shit r on the other coast.

Black on Parchment here. I don't like silver because I find it boring. I wish I had gotten the red but they couldn't find one with the parch interior which I wanted. My choice is 35% all around - I don't like the total dark look of limo tint.

look at my sig!! I think the black car with the reg black tint is the shizinizum, it gives the car some soof special powers. it takes control of peoples heads and necks. they instantly turn to the dark car with the dark windows. Whos in side?, whos drivin? IS he cute? does he have room for me? all the questions you want asked are asked when you have teh black car with the black interior and the black tint. It ices the cake!!!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself! Get the darkest regular (non-metallic) tint you can - it looks so bad-ass on a black car. I pretty much knew I was getting a black car all along. When a black car is very clean there is just nothing that comes close to looking as cool. BUT it is the biggest pain in the ass to keep looking good. Not just keeping it clean - a good wash takes care of that, but EVERY single scratch, swirl mark, and imperfection looks really bad. Go get yourself some ZAINO and you're there!!

black is beautiful!!!... anyways, yeah it's very hard to keep it clean, i swear that the very next day it's just covered with dust(of course i spend 2 hours cleaning my car, so i'm a bit anal.)
back to tha tint question, i have 35% neutral smoke tint which i totally love (looks inbetween regular black tint and mirror tint)

Oh, and I forgot. Black cars are faster than Silver cars. It's been proven technically that this is true.

Hey I got a RED one. Don't have to say CL-S because if it's red it's a CL-S. I think red is faster???

 

Silver cars look clean all the time. I haven't washed my CL-S for more than 3 weeks but it still looks relatively clean. I feel bad though so I'll give the poor guy a wash this weekend.

True, black is a ***** to keep clean...you'll notice how many are at the car washes...I liked silver too, but EVERYONE has a silver car..because, as you said, black is hard to keep clean. IMO, I think black on black with tint(15 back and side and 45 front)is pure class...looks like a limo...
