Bird $hit on Satin Silver!
Bird $hit on Satin Silver!
I am wondering if anyone else is seeing this....I have a 2002 Satin Silver CL-S and I have noticed that there is ALWAYS bird $hit on my car...there are ten car all on the same row and none of the other ones have a single dropping and mine has 3 or 4!!!!! ...every day!!!!!!
Am I alone here or is anyone else having a similar problem? What is the best way to clean this $hit (literally) off my car w/o scratching the paper thin paint? I am not sure what these Dallas birds eat but their fecal matter dries rock hard! Any help on how to clean this and possibly even prevent it would be very helpful.
Maybe if I hide in the bushes in camoflauge and take out one with my .22 it would set an example for his buddies?

Well...if have an ultra shiny car like I always do, those damn birds have a radar for it. Lil bastards!!! I had one literally dirreah ALL over my shit the other day......girl-friend was having emotional issues so I'm definately going to clean that shit off tonite!!!! UGH.....talk about frustrating. I would use rubbing alcohal and a cotton swab 9which I'm going to use). Should be safe enough. If you don't like that idea I'd use some Zaino Z6.

Not if you want to remove any kind of wax/polymer from your car. Alcohol is a no-no.
Best Bets in order of least likely to damage finish
1)Hose with nozzle to gently blow it off, spray from the side of the stain
2) Quick Detailer, any kind with a microfiber or soft clean cotton towel
3) Lots of water and a rag

1,999,998) gasoline, kerosene, PrepClean - removes the finish (wax, polymer...
1,999,999) Windshield washer fluid - contains antifreeze - removes the finish (wax, polymer...
2,000,000) Alcohol - if no other method will work to remove stain
Biggest tip is to get it off ASAP. The longer it's on, the worse the damage.
whenever there are bird shits or whatever on my cls or jeep.i will try to clean them up asap as they will leave some unremoveable stains on the paint if u do not clean them right away or asap.my friend's civic got egged on the fender and he did not clean it up right away,in fact he let it dry under the sun for couple days and now he regrets and deciced to give it a new paitn job.so.u know what i mean.clean
I have to disagree.....

I notice the same thing, but I doubt that birds have a strong affinity to the silver color. The best way to remove it is to use some detailer and a cotton towel. Zaino, Mother's, and Meguiars all make one.

I also have silver CL-S
One day this one big bird (I assume) did its job and I have $hit pile at least 3 in diameter
and the rest was scattered all over the place. I do not know what it was but it was at least 20 times more than a normal bird $hit.. I just washed it out..
(I still cannot believe a bird can do that, even I cannot do that much as a human
)

I had some few experience like that the worst one is when my car got hit 6-7 times by bird crap(quarter size) at my school parking lot. I'm lucky that i just waxed it kinda hold those chemical from penetrating through the paint and yes it's still fresh so thank god it was easy to take it out. I ended up washing in nearest carwash... So always keep a bottle of water(2-3 bottles recommended)
in your trunk and a fresh terry cloth...

This sounds gross, but rehydration is the key...
Just get a spray bottle with tap water (or distilled water if you don't want spots) and spritz the offending crud until it softens up completely.
If you have a good coat of wax it'll usually just float off without a wipe.
