big brakes?
i have been wondering this for some time. why is everybody getting big brake kits? the rotors on my cl are pretty big...wouldnt our cars just benefit from stainless lines and better pads and such...why the need for bigger brakes...i know they look cool...but everybody thinks bigger brakes mean shorter stops...that is the most untrue statement about bigger brakes...fellow drivers of the beloved cl type s, help me understand.

Bigger brakes... 4 piston Brembos or Rotoras won't improve our stopping distances... Yet they include better pads and stainless steel lines also... I don't understand your point.

The larger surface area of the rotor is due to the increased number of pistons. You are right, larger brakes DO NOT mean shorter stop, more pistons do.

As soon as i had my Rotora BBK, there is a BIG difference over stock brakes. Most of the people on here that have them, bought them for their increased performance. I personally bought them because i was leaning towards seriously modding my car and with it being faster, better performing brakes would be a must. Currently my performance mods include headers, intake, and exhaust. I was considering getting S/C and I/C and that was the main reason for my BBK. However, there is a noticable difference between BBK and stock.

i agree that the stock brakes are some of the worst ever...but i upgraded to to the drilled and slotted rotors with axiss mm pads and i see no reason for anything better...by the time i push the pedal to the floor my car is completly stopped.....im sure the bbk would make the car stop even better but i just dont see a need for it...the only reason i would buy it is because it looks so damn hott

Brake feel is much better. Once i got my BBK on, i knew that i could stop the car where/when i wanted to. With the stock brakes and warped rotors , it felt like the brakes would be on the brink of giving out when i made hard stops. If everyones replies here still doesnt give you what youre looking for, you'll have to test drive a CL witha BBK, then you'll get it

The BBK kit is more noticable in hard driving where the brakes start fade. I can feel a huge difference coming down from 100mph+ speeds. Also in autocross you will notice a difference.
