Best replacement wipers....
Hello All!! I usually post over in the TL forum since I have an 05 TL but my sister drives an 01 CL Type-S... She wants to replace her windshield wipers since she still has the originals... What is the best for this car? brand / size / and website if you know all that info.... I know for the TL the PIAA Sportza seems to be the one but is it the best for the CL-S?
Thanks Guys!!

just replace the blade's inserts, they cost like $5 each at acura and should be replaced once a year.
other option :
they are more expensive, but the people who has them say it's the very best ever.
also, this kind of blade comes from the factory on 06 CSX and TSX.
so you can probably find them at acura also.

Check out that link. I just installed Bosch Icon wipers on my vehicle and my mother's. The work quite well and have a very clean look to them. Very easy to install and provide for excellent "wiping". I think Autozone has a deal where you get a $15 giftcard when you buy a set.
Good luck.

There is no wiper better for one car than another. They are completly universal, just get the correct size. There is a sizing chart everywhere you can buy blades. If you like the ones on your TL use those

Sorry, man. Not to argue, but I'm gonna call you on this one... When I first got my CL, the dealer I bought it from put on these el-cheapo Anco wipers. Everytime they got all the way up, just when they started to go back down they made this terrible SMACK!!! sound. So drivning along with the wipers on, all you heard was... SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!, etc... That being said, you can't tell me they're all the same. My Rain-X one's don't hardly make a sound.
Not to mention, only half of these posts are suggestions anyway.

Those wipers must have been the wrong size, because ive been using ANCO wipers for years and have never had them make noises. Also the moral of my post is that there isn't a better wiper for one car than another. Yes there are better blades than others, but its not dependent on the vehicle.

I gotcha.... Took me a second but I see what you're saying now.
Those Anco's were the correct size for the car. I held them up against the new ones and they were indentical in length. Go figure. Must have been a freak pair! Funny thing is... They aren't sold in pairs... Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Although, I personally have never had a good experience with the Anco ones. I had them on my Accord for a short period of time, and they were horrible. Left a smudge on my windsheild. I replaced them with another set, same thing. Then I switched to the Bosch 3-blade ones, and they were great. I have those on my CL, now. No complaints. When it's time for some new ones, I'll get those rain-x ones.

They work perfect & since she still has the OEM blade ~ it'll run U about $12.

I've used Anco's. Honestly I never had problems with wipers.
The sill blades last for 5 years. If they fail for any reason I get a new set for free. That makes things simple for me.

I'm pasting this from a PM I just sent....
Did you guys see this ??

Autozone has a rebate on the Icon wipers (middle of the page) and Bosch micro edge (very bottom of this page):
http://www.autozone.com/in_our_store...tore_deals.htm
I was thinking about the PIAA's but I might try one of the other options.
OEM's should only be like 5-6 bucks a peice, so for like 10-12 dollars are probably the cheapest solution...
I'm a cheap bastard, so I'll probably end up with ANCO, OEM's or Bosch....

im telling you. oem blades period
The best wiper blades are the original equipment that Acura supplies. Japanese blade manufacturers produce excellent rubber, whether it is Toyota, Nissan or Honda. However, some US-built Japanese cars have "American" blades, such as Trico.
Check with the dealer and get Japanese blades, especially NWB (Nippon Wiper Blade). The cheapest solution is to get just the rubber refill and install it yourself. The metal frame should last for years.
The rubber should be replaced in the late fall, after cool weather has started. If you want to replace wipers twice per year, also change in early spring. This puts new rubber on your car at the beginning of the two prime wiper blade seasons, November and April.
Avoid gimmicks like triple edges, silicon rubber, etc. These are cheap, aftermarket products that make big claims but actually deliver less than factory equipment. Also avoid any gadgets that attach to or cover wiper blades. These actually interfer with proper blade function and add weight to the blade, which will reduce wiper system life, cause wiper over-travel, and induce lift-off at highway speeds. Spoiler blades may look cool, but are not necessary unless you plan on driving at speeds over 85 mph. At that speed, if it is raining, you may have bigger problems than slight blade liftoff, such as hydroplaning (tires, not wipers).
Finally, if you feel the need to go aftermarket, stick with the reputable big manufacturers, such as Bosch, SWF, or Valeo. They also supply original equipment on European high-performance cars like BMW, Audi, etc. The Bosch Micro Edge Excel offers excellent performance but is pricey.

After 4.5 yrs with OEM, just replaced mine today while at the dealership getting oil change. Blade refills were only $4.18 ea. and installed N/C (of course). Should be good for another 5 yrs?
