Best Cold Air Intake For 03 CLS6

I'm looking to buy a intake for my new CLS6 and I've been doing some research but there's so many options. I would like to hear some of your opinions on what to buy. I want to stay away from ones that make loud humming noise at idle. I don't mind one that's louder while driving and high rpms.

Yeah I'd say "best" is Comptech ice box. If I knew about them before I installed my Injen I would have gone the CT route. Reason personally is because I'm in Oregon and it rains here 366 days a year. I always get nervous when driving in real heavy rain. Maybe I'm too cautious, though.

Either way, if you get an Injen, get a hydroshield with it.

I'm happy with my icebox. Looks good, sounds good. Since we are on this topic has anyone chopped the resonator on the icebox going to the TB? Tempted to do it but don't want to regret it.

I had the AEM, loved it, but then went with the Comptech, because I also live in a very rainy place, (WA State). I'm thinking about getting the V2 though just to try it.

I can't say anything about any of the intakes, but I bought a K&N when they were on sale at Pepboys for $25 and removed the resonator and have been happy with it.

It's okay I changed my mind and decided to build a custom intake from scratch my friend already ordered all the materials from vibrant performance and they came in a few days ago. I'm going to run a 2 3/4 " stock throttle body" to 3 1/2 transition all the way down into the bumper with a 3 1/2 inlet vibrant air filter. It will look simple and clean since 3 1/2 isn't common with the intake kits for our cars.

I have the AEM Cai and I like it but I really don't have anything to compare it to other than stock. Its CARB legal and that's important since I'm in California.

Yeah I decided that's the better route. As long as I don't have that annoying hum at idle I will be happy, I don't mind being loud at wot. I'll take some pictures once I'm done.

You should make a build thread. I'm interested to see how your ride is coming along

The hum is ever worse with a short ram intake like mine that I have.

But it whistles when flooring it, and its very loud at WOT.

Didn't someone used to make a 4" intake? I wish I could find one of those.

I plan on it soon. I haven't done much to the car yet.

Here's the list of parts that I already installed:
P2r test pipe for now until I do a custom setup
P2r intake manifold thermal gasket
p2r throttle body spacer
p2r throttle body thermal gaskets
Hybrid racing shifter bushings
Led interior light kit
5% tint all the way around
I put the trunk from my 02 cl-p on for now since it has black emblems and no wing.
I also put the grill from my 02 cl-p on for now because it's blacked out.
I'm going to get the original parts sprayed and I will switch it back.

I have a bunch of parts waiting to install that I'm just gathering together .

Nice. How does the car handle compared to the CL-P?

It feels so weird driving them back to back since they feel completely different haha. Even though the trans is messed up in the cl-p it's still drivable. I love it it feels a lot better. I actually bought a 05 odyssey trans yesterday off car-part.com with 41k miles for $912 shipped. I received it today at work and I'm going to swap that into the cl-p over this weekend. I've been trying to get in touch with NVA-AV6 about what exactly has to be done but he's not replying to pm's anymore.
