Beat a GS 400, no BS.
Here we go again, i know everybody talks shit about cl-s not being able to beat a GS 400. Well, if you read my first thread on my first kill i said i was gonna race a GS 400, see http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=81140
aight well i raced him at the same spot i raced the monte carlo ss,
my car: 2003 cl type s automatic w/1800 miles all stock
his car: 2000 GS 400 all stock, using e-shift
First run, the one passenger in his car says on your mark get set GO, and were off we both get wheelspin and and then i immediatley pull on him by 80 i had like 1 and half cars on him
second run, we both get better launches and the same thing happens i immediatley pull on him and put between 1.5-2 cars on him to 80
I raced him twice just to make sure this was no bullshit, i have three witnesses that were watching the race. I know most of you are gonna say this is bullshit, if you do just go fuckin read another thread, yall gotta gimmie my props on this one

I believe you beat him! But a passenger makes a difference for sure! I raced this Guy in a Mustang GT (manuel) with a passenger and he would get me all the way to 90 or so, then the passenger switched and got into the GT and I was beating him worst then he beat me with the Passenger. Stock for Stock it will be a good race with a CL-S and a GS400 to 95mph after that the V8 torque will take over. With headers & Intake on your CL-S you should be able to beat a GS400 but if your friend just upgrades his TC & SRT Intake you can say bye bye. I would like you to Race him again and see what the out come is with no passenger.

Darrinb I just looked at the bottom of your post where it has your 1/4 time Now if thats what you do in the 1/4 then your boy with his GS400 can't drive his car ....Even Stock with 80,000 miles on my car I pulled a 14.4 in the 1/4 with wheel spin. Not saying you didn't beat him I'm just saying that he can't drive even with a passenger he should pull you in the 1/4 if you run slower than a 14.8 or 14.9. How long has he had his car?

And a qestion for the gs owners, whats the things you do for a race?? Do you gate shift or e shift, whats the difference?? I'm sure u turn the traction off and hit the power button. What other steps do you take before racing??
Today at school everyone wanted a piece of my car cause i beat nick in his gs 4. No one knew how fast my car was. As long as i race from 0-80 ish i'm petty sure no cars at school would kill me. I think my next race is gonna be vs a drop top automatic ws6, i hope i can atleast stay at his back bumper till 60.

The sad part is that darrinb doesn't have any mods and I did have mods when i raced those two gs. Again good kill! I guess you rule for right now at your school until someone challenges you in a Domestic
Maximized - Lay off the there is no way a stock CL-S is going to take a GS400/430. The GS and 540i are about equal in performance terms and everyone knows what a 540i will do to a CL-S.
Man I don't think you ever gave the cls props for winning a race. On paper the 540i and GS are faster than us but if you are not capable of driving those cars to full potential than yes you will lose to CLS. Furthermore a 540i MT will murder a gs, don't go there. AC has mods on his 540i, and thats why he murders CLs.

Great Kill darrinb!!! On the comment about beating a GS4 I told them to believe me. hehehe. Again this balls down to driver. I used to think auto vs auto you just mash the pedal to the floor but there is actually skills involved too. I know how to drive my car VERY WELL, not many owners of cars might not know how to drive their cars well. That's the chance you take when you race. I agree you have to know how to drive a GS400 to get that 14.3 out of it! Still a GS400 with a ok driver will pull a 14.7 easy. Alot of things come into play when racing on the street . Like DrRick said you just got lucky, don't mean you will beat every GS400 out there that is STOCK. oh and yes it matters on how you shift too! I gate shifted and e-shifted, and I have to say gate shift was better for me!

Oh sh!t, is this a daily thing now. How come at ClubLex, there is no one posting a "I beat a M5 with 2 passengers, I swear I did"....
The more I read this, the more I could care less as the CL can't touch the GS on anything as it should being it costs 20k more.

But in agree with you in principle. The GS400 is in another class (compared with the CLS) and for that class it offers outstanding value and performance.
The new Altima 3.5 SE can probably beat any CL and many auto CLS (all stock), yet I would not compare the Altima with the CLS when it comes to the complete package.
I love my CLS, but I would have just as much love for a GS400 (as long as it can be manual).

I think i'm gonna go at the gs 400 again, this time with one passenger, his friend is gonna drive the gs who is a better racer and were gonna put some $$$ on it, i'll let yall know how it goes if it goes down.

Take for instance my old Typhoon. One day I ran a 13.24 and two weeks later couldn't get below a 13.7. One month later I was runing 13.3 - 13.4. Nobody was running well on Sunday; would you expect an SC430 to run in the low 15's?? I expected Rick in his GS4 with Intake and Exhaust to be in the low 14s.
But IMO, as I have tried to show in comparing specifications, the 6-Speed would be quite capable of running with a GS4 stock for stock. But the GS4 will out class the CLS all of the time!!
