Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction **pics**

Went to the World's Largest classic car show/auction this weekend in Scottsdale. There were thousands of cars there, new and old. One of the few places you'll see three or four ZR-1's, BMW Z8's or '55 T-Birds together!!! Here are some pics for you to enjoy:

Starting off with my show favorite. A 1931 Dodge Housecar. This is the funkiest thing on wheels. It's so ugly it's cute. I didn't get a pic, but the turn signal is in the shape of a hand that is pointing and it even had a light in it! This thing is too cool for words! One of only 36 built.

Beautiful original unrestored '55 T-Bird

'1972 De Tomasa Pantera - BAD ASS!!!!!

Viper GTSR (Show was sponsored by Chrysler, er I mean Diamler-Chrysler )

Old Lincoln. Note the horns on the front!

2000 BMW Z8 interior. This color looks much better than the black, IMHO. This car looks like it's worth every penny.... and that's high praise for a BMW coming from me. I'm generally very under-whelmed by them!

Chevelle SS LS6. Not too many cars get to see this view in a drag race with one of these

Original window sticker on a '65 Vette (I think. Not sure of the year). Hmmm... $5410... I'll take TWO!!!

Right-hand drive Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II

A "PTeazer" from www.PTeazer.com

A 21 window VW bus. Very nice!

A 2000 Lotus 340R. This car manages to be butt ugly and beautiful at the same time. It looks like it was thrown together in someone's garage with spare parts but it's still cool as hell!

1936 Packard Twelve. These things are HUGE!!!! They have got to be within a few inches of a Suburban in all dimensions, if not bigger!

The Packard again with a good view of the dual windshields

Bad 'ol Lincoln. Check out the windshield!

I know it is a yearly event, but I think this particular one is only in Scottsdale and it is billed as the world's largest. I'd actually never even heard of it before, but a friend in Phoenix got 30 free tickets (@ $20 a pop ) so we just had to go!! The size of this thing was unbelievable. Let me put it this way, we had to take a shuttle from our car to the front gate! I don't know how many cars were for sale there, but there had to be at least 2000. There were hundreds of booths with food and gifts too... lots of really cool auto accessories and stuff. Just about everything you can imagine that had to do with cars was there. It's a 4 day event and it would probably take the entire 4 days to see everything. This show is a must for any car fanatic. I'll never miss another one!!

ahhh..i'm jealous...i usually go every year but didn't make it this year. So you had a good time. And isn't it amazing at how cheap some of those cars go. And now you know never to build a hot rod cause they cost way to much $ . How much were the T-birds going for? when i went to the auction in reno where i bought my caddy they were going for like 20K

any outrages street rods? How much did that lincoln go for?
