Anyone Paint Their Splash Guards To Match The Car?
Anyone out there paint their splash guards to match the car? I'd sure like to know how they take the paint. I just picked a set from Palm Beach Acura for $ 102. and will drop them off next week to my friend over at Superyl Auto Body for painting. I'm starting to prepare for my future wider performance tires.
I believe a handfull of people have done this with success. Apparently the paint may chip over time, but so far they have been holding up well. I think it was Jason T who painted his flaps... not suer off hand.

Hey Pappy, do you live in Palm Beach? I live in Palm Beach Gardens, and thats where I bought my car. I hate going there for service. They aren't helpful, slow, and unkind.
If you do this, it would be best to start with brand new ones unless yours are in perfect condition. You'll want to use paint that has an additive (i forget what its called) that allows for flexiblility. It works well on plastic. I'd also clear coat it to match the shine of the rest of the car.

Yep. follow juniorbean's link. I had mine done at Maroone ford in Margate.(body shop part) This is where Acura sent me to get them painted. Almost a year now, & they still look great. No chips, or cracking. They did use a flex additive, & a special paint. After they cured for a few days I Zaino'd them, then put them on the car.

I don’t care for when they are painted body color.
Looks too much like a Toyota Solara.

Ok, I dropped off the splash guards to the body shop. He already new about the flex stuff. He said you apply it after the splash guards are painted, otherwise it will start chipping in a month. He will also 'clear' them to match the shine on the car. He is charging me $ 125. for the paint and installation.
