Anyone have Rotora Front Brake System?

I'm thinking of replacing my warped front brake system. From what I've heard when your factory rotors warp, the dealer just has them turned and the problem still reappears. So I was wondering if anyone with the set up can give their opinions on the Rotora System? I would like Brembo's, but I'm not that rich.

I recommend you go with the WILWOOOD, just because ROTORA is a bunch of asshats.... If I could do it all over again I would of went with WILWOOD and got the calipers in BLACK..

Wish to know more in detail, just PM me...

But trust me.. "THE COMPANY and it's EMPLOYEES".. are a complete joke....

Sorry to hear Smitty had a problem with them. Mine are great and no problems at all. Way cheaper than Brembos with similar results.

No Glen or Chemmech, I have had NO problems with the braking system, it is the Company that I had troubles with...

Did you know that they wanted $700.00 EXTRA to paint my calipers BLACK!!!!... yeah riiight, get a fucking life...

here is another one:... Just to show you:.... Call this clown at Rotora and he states that I can use spacers with the braking sytem with no problems what-so-ever... I say "great!!, nice clean and simple, end of story"... WRONG!!!... the first piece of paper I pull out of the ROTORA box states that "ROTORA DOES NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF SPACERS".."THEY are a temporary fix ONLY"... ROTORA recommends HUB adapters, which in turn they are about 45 a PIECE!!!.....

So you tell me... I go straight to the source . (the manufacture) of the braking sytem and they STRAIGHT up LIE TO ME....

So then I call back again and confront the guy with the info and he says it is a misprint and they need to correct it... BULLSHIT... the fucker LIED and tried to cover his tracks just so he could sell a brake KIT....

This is just the ending, this all started when we first started talking to these SO-CALLED big brake kit EXPERTS. and they would tell me to test fit it....(WHY the fuck should I be your guinea pig and do your fucking work for you if your trying to sell me a fucking kit!!!!!, for an application that you SELL!!!....

What a nightmare...... but it is all over, i am happy with the braking, but I will never give another GODDAMN DIME to ROTORA.

Thanks everyone. One more dumb question, will these brakes fit the oem Acura rim, 17 inch, or do I need "spacers" or whatever else they'll sell me? $700 for painting? Too much for that. I'll get the blue ones for my blue car, I've seen green that looked cool but that's a "special order color."

I have a Jegs catalogue (came with the transmission cooler) and saw the Wilwood stuff, its also very nice, and cheap for the domestic cars! I bet a system for the Acura is at least $1300. I'll try to find out abut Wilwood too though.

5mm spacers will do but THEY DO not Recommend it since your calipers might still hit the rim... I have the stock 17inch 03 rim on my car now and I have NOT had any problems.

Where did you see that? I didn't see any application for any CL. The only Acura I saw was the RSX. I have a first gen CL, and I'd be interested in seeing their brake system for it. Wilwood makes some crazy shit...

Smitty, do you think stock 2002 TLs rims will fit with the big brake kit? I know that the TLs rims are .5" thinner then the CLs rims. Can you post some pictures of the stock rims with your brake kit.
Do you have 1 5mm spacer right now? I guess i am looking for brakes as good as my X5. The x5 seem to stop so much better then the TLs even my wife's 2004 Solara's brakes seems better then my TLs. I don't want to upgrade my rims and I guess it cost way 2 much to trade my car in for a 2004 AMG E55.

Real good question, I have no clue unless we did a test fit.

I have (4) 5mm spacers, (1) spacer on each HUB.

I do not have any recent pics of the stock rims & ROTORA brakes.

Smitty, thanx for the reply. I wonder if you think the brakes are worth 1,400. Does the brakes fell much better now.

Smitty, just out of curiosity, why did you elect to go with spacers on the rear as well? you just wanted to balance out the stance?

You guys gotta use this feature

Wilwood Big Brake kit

Price is $1750 for the kit (Front 13" cross-drilled/slotted 2-piece rotors, Rear stock size rotors cross-drilled/slotted, 6-piston calipers for fronts, SS brake lines, ceramic pads, and blue high performance brake fluid. Contact Sherwin at Brakezone for details 888-820-1777

It looks like you have to have aftermarket wheels to fit the 13" brakes or else you need a spacer (dunno how much.) I have 18x7.5s +42 offset. Sherwin also has 12" that will fit the stock rim w/o spacer.

Some pics posted when I got them installed.

Stock feel... BUT.. I have not really tested them by SMASHING them to the floor.. I have about 800 miles on them so far...

I like them alot, but I do not like the color, that is why they are getting redone.

Correct.. I want everything in line/spec.... doesn't make sence to push the front tires out 5mm and not the rear... although it is a VERY small amount.... I am anal, what can I say.

I was 1 step away from ordering Wilwood along with about 3 other members but the PRICE was a tad bit too high to BUY 3 sets off the guy.,... and he was NOT willing to wheel and deal... so the hell with him.
