Any storage tips?

I put my CL-S up for the winter back in mid December. Last week I decided I better start it up for a while just to get the juices flowing. The next day I went to my Acura dealer and asked him if I should be doing anything different.

He advised me that starting the vehicle without driving it could cause either the gas to get contaminated with oil or vise versa I can’t remember, because not driving it doesn’t allow it to hit the higher rpms. He said instead of starting it I may want to just get a battery charger.

Does that sound correct or is there something else I should be doing. Has anyone else parked his or her CL-S for the winter?

He's right. When you put it up you should have put Sta-Bil in the tank, raised the tire pressure and use a battery "maintainer" not trickle charger. They tend to overcharge. Del Tran makes a very good one for about $60 that will not overcharge your battery. As hard as it is, don't start it without driving it at least 10 minutes or miles. You want everything to heat up. Moisture gets in the exhaust, oil, and all kinds of places that you don't want it. Ten miles of driving should be enough to burn it off. I store my 68 Pontiac from November to May every year and I do just that.

crack both doors and the moonroof a bit to allow a bit of air circulation. this helps prevent windshield fogging and residues when the resins sublime (a ordinary process).
