To me, it looks like a S2000 in the front, just as the new TL-S, looks like a CL in the front, with all different ass' ! What's up with Acura ? And $143K for that ? I'll get a 911 !

What's this all about:
The new model will be powered by a version of the 3.5-liter DOHC 40-valve V-8 intended for the next Legend (RL in the U.S.) sedan, generating 395 horsepower -- a smashing 105 more than the previous NSX-T. This means, among other things, that Honda will be the first Japanese manufacturer to break that country's gentlemen's agreement limiting maximum engine output to 276. This huge power boost is expected to give the new NSX 200-mph capability. There will also be a 415-hp, 3.6-liter racing version of the engine, which Honda may use to mount an assault on the 24-hour endurance race at Le Mans.
What about the GS400=> 300HP
3000GT=>300HP
Supra Turbo=>~300HP??

And I'm sure there are others.

i've seen this pic before somewhere else, i'm pretty sure that's the facelift for the current one (2001 or '02 i think)...notice how everything except hte face is almost identical to the current one?

the next gen isn't due 'til at least 2003. (maybe intro-ed spring 2002 in japan as the artical says).

Actually, no...

Aristo's don't have 300 hp.
GTO's have 276 hp
And Supra RZ's have 276 hp, maybe 277 hp or something like that.

I know they all SAY their engines are rated at 276 hp, but they took a skyline engine and dyno'd it with an aftermarket chip, it got 490 hp.... now tell me that motor doesn't make more than 276 hp stock. Granted it was chipped, But how much can a freakin computer do?

Some of their engines are under-rated, much like the E36 M3's 240hp figure and the LS6's 320 hp figure.

gentlemen's agreement limiting maximum engine output to 276?

I know we as Americans (Canadians) shouldn't judge other cultures... But that is the most bizzare thing I have ever laid my eyes on.
What the frell (Farscape fans will know this term) were those Japanese execs thinking?
Could the next NSX be built here in the United States? Would this be the first supercar manufactured in the US?

What C+D means is that this will be the first car to brake the 276hp rule in Japan, not outside Japan. Yes, cars like the Evo6 and now the Evo7, the STiB22 and others claim 276HP but are underated. This time they WILL claim more than 276HP IN JAPAN.

The Supra and the GS400 do not claim 320hp and 300hp in Japan.

To me, it's a case of Honda as Rip Van Winkle. Being that the NSX has always been/will still be significantly more expensive than its competitors, it makes no sense for Honda to allow it to be seen in any way as their performance equals.

The $64K question is: what will Nissan do when Honda breaks the agreement?

Wow, a $143K S2000 hardtop. Funny to think that back in the early 90's, the NSX was in a slump and could be purchased for around $50k. No thanks........think I'll find a low mileage used one for much less. There are plenty of those for sale.
