Apologies for the very vague description.

Started the car up yesterday, car shook more than it should. I checked the engine out, and wow, the damn thing's rocking back and forth like a pendulum. I drove it for not even a 1/4 mile, it seemed to struggle when I first accelerate. Check engine light comes on, I stop the car, leave it be and notice a strange smell coming from the motor with no smoke.

I didn't wanna diagnose it anymore as I already had a shitty day, so I just called the towing co to get it towed to a dealership for a fix .. Now I gotta wait until Tuesday for their word.

Not expecting any answers, but can anyone guess what went wrong here?

 

Possible problem w/ engine mounts/or idle..throttle cable. Hope it isa minor issue.

 

spark plug gone bad? misfire?

 

What sort of smell?

 

Rather weird smell .. Sort of like burning oil, but I saw no smoke of any kind.

 

What was the car idling at?

 

Ironically, it was at normal idle .. 850-900 after "warm up" if you can call it that ..

 

only way to know for sure is get the CEL code............
