Wouldn't you ask this question before you bought the product?

You still have to change your oil filter every 5-6K miles....

I'll take some I guess. I need to change the oil in my car anyways so I mught as well go synthetic. DO you need a special filter with the amisol or just use the regular filter?

Synthetics are fully compatable with conventional oil, so you should be able to switch any time. Now, whether you will benefit from synthetic oil is a different story... it depends on many factors..... in general synthetics are better if money is not the factor.
