Might want to check out this cool DVD/MP3 player before you go to the trouble of building one of your own, seems to be pretty nice. http://store.autotoys.com/cgi-bin/wfp53024.storefront

LarryB, First remove the spare tire cover - it has one press-in, plastic fastner, just near the front of the trunk area. Then remove the jack & it's accessories. The accessory tray(jack) has 2 press-in plastic fastners that hold it in. Then unscrew the two knob-like, black plastic anchors(for the cargo net). Both of these are on the right side(facing toward front of car)with one being just inside the trunk lip & one being just beyond the opening for the jack. There is also one press-in plastic fastner, just ahead of the opening for the jack. The black, plastic piece, at the rear of the trunk (it extends on either side of the latch) & it has 4 plastic fastners that need to have the centers unscrewed, then the remaining piece, just pulls out. Now you can pull the right side trunk lining away from the body of the car. Start at the back & carefully work forward. You still CANNOT remove it completely from the car - there is a fastner behind the seat, but it exposes the amp. Good luck!!
